Konami Day, with more Wii support...

First up: Dewy's adventure (see the other thread

Next: DDR
Perhaps Seizure Party would have been a more appropriate subtitle, as Konami's latest Dance Dance Revolution game will require the simultaneous use of three peripherals: a dance mat, a Wii remote and a Wii nunchuck. The Bemani developer has announced that their decidedly groovy franchise will pay a visit to the Wii, with Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party releasing sometime before 2007 keels over from pure exhaustion.

The game will feature all the modes series fans are familiar with, though we expect they really mean it with Workout Mode this time. Konami also encourages players to invite up to three friends for fantastic and potentially dangerous multiplayer stomping, flailing and gyrating. Remember, it's not embarassing if you enjoy it.

Well, it was expected, right?

Yup, this Marble Madness look-alike is getting a US release.

Oh, and there's also Wing Island, but I don't think anyone cares about that.

Marble Mania looks awesome, DDR, I hope they use the Wiimote, add some interesting stuff with it, like you have to move the wiimote in certain directions while you're dancing.

I'm excited about it, yet I also question whether the Wii are getting too much of that "Marble Madness" formula with tilt sensing.

It's kind of funny, because if you had asked me in the months before the Wii came out, I would have bet on there being a glut of sword-based games and only one Super Monkey Ball-style game. Now it's flipped. :P

So, will this require a new DDR mat that you have to get to plug into the Wii, or will it allow you to plug in GCN ddr mats into the GCN ports?

This will probably be the first DDR game I ever get.

    I just worry how

    a) they show you how to move the remote/nunchuck

    and

    b) how much room will 4 player need to not hit each other.

This flight game has you clear missions by flying propeller-based planes. You hold the Wiimote flat and tilt it up and down to control your craft. The game at times give you simultaneous control of five planes in formation. In the game's battle mode, the second player can play using just the nunchuck attachment, meaning you won't need to purchase a second controller for multiplayer play.

Someone mentioned that the Wiimote nunchuck link is too short for full length arm spread, and since using 8 remotes is not possible for 4 player given the limitation of bluetooth (assumed), which means there needs to be a better method of arm capture movement, either wireless nunchuck, or a extender cable to connect two wii remotes together...

i dunno, i was pretty big into ddr a few years ago, and followed the top-level freestyle stuff, so those guys really weren't that impressive. pretty much doing moves that any amateur freestyler would do.

note that i didnt freestyle myself, just watched others. and there was some pretty sweet stuff out there.
