So, I'm at the Giant Eagle (local grocery store) near my work for lunch, and I needed to pick up a few things and when I come out to my car, I see this sticking on my trunk near the license plate
My first reaction was that I was looking at the wrong Grand Prix, as I had parked in a different lane than usual. But no, this is my car, so someone actually stuck this to my trunk while I was in the store.
Now, I happen to agree with this sticker on the whole. At least not outwardly being a dick. You can be a dick all you want, just put on a pleasant facade and everything is fine. That's why this was baffling, because I don't act like a dick, nor do I drive like a dick.
But it got me to thinking, how have you guys learned lessons that have stuck with you?
Like how the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles taught me to conserve water while brushing my teeth. Or how, at the tender age of three, I learned not to wear pants with a zipper unless you have underwear on.

I remember learning not to waste water from a cartoon on Sesame Street, of a kid brushing his teeth while his sink sucked water directly out of a pond outside his house where a fish was. The fish eventually called up his house and told him to turn the water off, there was like 3 inches of water left for the fish. Man, that fish had it rough.
I am pretty sure there aren't any fish in the aquifer under my house thank you very much
Every lesson I've ever learned has been due to experience. It's the same with every generation and a characteristic of our species. Caveat to this is, a person can suffer the experience that would normally "teach them a lesson" about whatever and miss it completely if they are close-minded.
There's more that I feel like elaborating on but I'm tired of typing for this one post.

I think he is saying that a lot of life lessons, you can hear them from people all you want but a lot of things you just have to learn for yourself by experience.
