    Heroics are my bitch!

So i'm finding myself getting more into WoW than usual, with emphasis on Heroics (and at some point raiding). I don't know how long this will last but i'm enjoying it so far.

But healers are still too rare. Tanks are not.

In fact, it's so bad that people keep asking me if i want to dps in instances. This was fine when leveling up but i actually want to tank!

Next up, my priest for leveling i guess...

To all the people bitching about the Aces High! quest, what the -hell- are you doing?

Use the HoT until it is five stacks, go in and start off with 5 fireballs, then use your finisher. From then on keep hitting the HoT to keep the 5 stacked heal up, and do 3 fireballs and then the finisher. You all are talking about the shield, I never bother with it.

Dunno, shield's pretty important if you get zapped early. Sure, you might be able to survive if your HoT is rolling fully, but generally if the drake's spamming its attack the hot doesn't keep up too well.

My strat is fire, fire, dot, fire, fire, dot, fire x 5 dot, fire dot -- at this point, I have 4 stacks up that'll be going for 20 seconds or so. Then I just heal myself and wait for it to die, shielding with 2 points when it zaps.

It's a little riskier than just putting up a 3-stack, but it gets the job done faster. Less experienced folks might want to just stick with the 3, and be ready to shield themselves.

(edit) if you pull another dragon, use the blazing speed and get out of there. You don't stand a chance unless one dragon is going to die in the next five seconds.

I get the vibe from my guildmates that Oculus is the most hated heroic...but why? I love it. It sucks that no one wants to run it because I need the awesome staff off of the final boss since it's really the only good spellpower weapon with spirit offered pre-heroics (there is one from UP but it's not as good).

it's because everyone has to know what they're doing for the final boss. there's no way at all that you can expect idiot pugs to do it, and it's not very likely that even semi-competent guildmates can do it.
I spent over an hour wiping on him a few days ago, with people I know can play their own classes very well, but either didn't understand the strategy or couldn't use their drakes correctly.

it sucks, because a ton of healing/caster drops are there (like that staff), but apparently nothing for melee classes. meanwhile, I have my entire guild begging me to heal shit like halls of stone for them, when there isnt even anything there I'd consider using for an offspec set.

Oculus is fun. I only play amber drakes but all you need to really do is time stop when adds spawn which causes them to be 1 shotted or close to it.

I feel I could get more int and stamina elsewhere, but I lose ~40 spell damage when I break the set. Plus, it's fucking ugly.

Yeah the more you raid naxx the easier it becomes for your guild to clear. We went from 1 wing taking 4 hours to 1 wing taking 2 hours after one successful clear. The learning curve, at least so far that I've encountered, is quite small. Supposedly at higher levels of experience/gear, the entirety of naxx can be cleared in like 3 hours.

Contrary to popular belief, you don't need DPS to clear instances quickly. You just need to keep moving. Once the trash pull is down, grab the next and kill it. Less than 10 seconds downtime between trash pulls is ideal, and if the packs are close together, you should be chain-pulling them. DPS have mana regen abilities, and healers are built around regenning mana, they will be fine.

No, but I thought I read that the patch is buffing the damage of cannons and vehicles. Because right now, the damage they do seems really crappy. Take Strands for instance. If you have 2 tanks rush the doors, even if you have 2 people on the cannons shooting, they'll break through the door long before you destroy them, assuming there's nobody on foot attacking too. When logic would dictate that rushing the door while the cannons are still up should be a foolhardy move that's sure to get your tank blown up.

I have a few questions for you guys:
What the fuck is wrong with battlegrounds? Why does it seem that the alliance can't field a full team even when getting players from an entire battlegroup? Isn't that exactly the problem that battlegroups were created to solve? Why does the horde basically shit all over the alliance from 10-79? Is it just like this on the Bloodlust battlegroup, or is it like this everywhere? Is the 80 bracket like this too?

That's somewhat of a relief. Looking at the blizz forums it looks like it's not an isolated issue, other battlegroups seem to have the same problem, with both alliance dominant ones and horde dominant ones. Really frustrating.

The reason either faction 1-79 (or is it 1 to 69-70?) finds it hard to get a full group is because PvP'ing at anything less than max level is pointless unless you're a twink. A vast majority of players just want to hit the cap and kit their chars out.

I'm sure there are exceptions (aside from twinks ofcourse) but the fact that PvP offers NO xp gains means the majority of levelers will look elsewhere. This is something that WAR corrects and WoW may eventually get around to copying (who knows when, they haven't been concrete on it, just like dual-specs) but for now, quests are the defacto method of play pre-80.

Bloodlust is fairly even at the level cap.
Any battlegroup will be in a shambles from 10-79, there'll be mostly twinks, a few masochists pvping while levelling, besides that, no one.

Do you not get a Halaa Battle Token from a player if they were too low a level to grant honor when you killed them?
Three times now I haven't gotten a battle token when killing a player, all three times they were gray to me...but they were also Unholy Death Knights who would come back as a ghoul so I don't know if that was what messed it up. I did, however, get credit for the daily quest to kill 10 players even though I didn't get a token.

Perhaps I should have farmed the battle tokens before leveling.
