    In related news I saw Benjamin Button instead of Slumdog tonight by request of my girlfriend.

    It was quite good but I wish I saw Slumdog instead now. Also 3 hours hot damn.

    the makings out were pretty fun but it was a fairly forgettable movie overall

    there is no way it is better than the meticulously crafted In Bruges

    there were parts of the movie that were pretty damn good

    but fuck, all the dialogue for the kids was terrible, or maybe they are all just pretty bad actors

    it was one step above after-school special bad

    I could barely tolerate her bit on the street corner and in the truck. She can act better than me but it's not like I am looking to be in film.

    I don't think any of the Hmongs were either. I'm pretty sure they were purposely selected because they're amateurs.

    I read that on wiki earlier. I can see why they weren't very good. The casting decisions gave it a little more authenticity. The shaman was the real deal too.

    Nothing wrong with some mindless bullshit every once in a while. I wouldn't have seen a Sandler movie over anything worthwhile though.

    I thought Downey in Tropic Thunder pretty much stole the whole movie from any other actor in it

    still don't think he deserves an award for it

    unless it is maybe a comedy award

    I guess we're talking about movies here, so

    I've started seeing TV spots for Taken, because it's finally getting its US release

    but the ads basically just show the girl getting kidnapped so maybe they are trying to market it as a basic suspense story?
    there certainly was no hint of Liam Neeson going all badass on anybody in the spots

    I still haven't seen this, by the way
