Dear Diary,
At midnight the power suddenly went out here in the town of Corwell,
I was awake suffering from a bout insomnia when it happened, the familiar hum of my computer whirring away in the corner suddenly came to a stop and the streetlamps outside went out. With nothing better to do and with me not falling asleep anytime soon I finally decided to start writing this diary with my flashlight.
I have been having some disturbing dreams lately, maybe that’s whats causing this wretched insomnia. But they’re not really that scary I just hear some ominous chanting sneaking in to my dreams with an incredible feeling of complete loneliness.
Maybe I should just try continuing to sleep lingering on it isn’t going to fix anything.

Yes there is an order of actions, no you have to figure it out on your own.
In this game there is a character called a mercenary, every night you may bid items of value (everyone starts with 3) to try and hire the merc to kill someone of your choice. Pm the person and the bid to me to be sent to the mercenary. He will then choose from the list whom he wishes to kill.
Everyone also has the ability to pm me to say that they scavenge the town for various weapons, protective implements and extra items of value. You may only hold one item and if you choose to search you lose the item you are holding (doesn't count items of value) whether you find anything or not.
Some mechanics are untested and as such may be game-breaking in unforseeable ways
INACTIVUS HUNGERS- If you aren’t going to be able to vote or do actions on a fairly consistent basis please don’t bother signing up. I will remove anyone who has 2 days of no meaningful posting or voting

If we bid our some number of our three "items of value" and lose the bid, do we lose what we bid? If two people tie the merc bid, how is that resolved?
"You may only hold one item." Is that not counting the three "items of value"?

The Mercenary gets to choose whom he kills from those who bid for his services so even if you're the highest bidder he might not kill the person you're trying to kill
Your one item doesn't count the IOVs
If he doesn't pick your bid you'll get them back

The Red Cloaks

The stench .
This town smells of death now.
For the past week I’ve been running from house to house slowly making progress back home
Those maniacs in red cloaks have been ritualistically murdering everyone.
The police tried their best but they were all swiftly cut down from traitors within their own ranks.
At last count there are 25 of us left out of a town of 3500
We know there are still some maniacs left. Some townspeople have made mention of people in both blue and red cloaks and now the mayor has suggested we all vote everyday to kill one of our number.
That’s the worlds worst mayor for you only able to come up with a simple witch hunt.
All people will do is gang up on the accused all he is doing is helping the damn red cloaks.
Even worse is a mercenary who has shown up. No one knows who he is but he posted a message in the town square saying to leave objects of value in a tree with an anonymous note saying who you want him to kill.
THIS IS SICKENING
Why would someone take advantage of this. How selfish and sick could you be to care about money when you could protecting others.
In any case I’ve stayed here too long
I have to keep moving
I just don’t trust anyone in this town anymore.
