First couple seasons were amazing television, the middle seasons were uneven and a bit of a let-down, then the fifth season redeemed the series and ended it really beautifully.
Even when the storylines are hurting in seasons 3 and 4 the performances are amazing.
There's this one episode towards the end of season one where David is prepping a gay kid who was a victim of a hate crime for an open casket funeral and the murdered kid confronts David about his sexuiality, and becomes the embodiment of all of David's self-loathing and repression. (characters regularly have dialogue with the deceased, it's part of the show) To me that storyline is a high water mark for television in general.
I don't think I've ever seen a famous person on the street.
Though my cousin once bumped into Josh Homme and they chatted. He got a picture taken with him too. I think that was in the Rock Shop in Vancouver.
I am jealous.
The best I can say is that I did stage work for Agent Orange once.
I'm jealous, too. Josh Homme is a weird guy.
He seems like a weird guy. And he consistently puts out good music and works with good musicians. The guy is like Kevin Bacon in that you could link to most everybody in the rock world based on who he's been around.
Based on all the interviews I've seen of him, I cannot imagine that he's great at casual conversation unless you were friends with him.

old david sees the kids playing foot ball and he notices keith playing with them, and keith stops and smiles and waves is when I completely lost the plot.

Also Inquiz is right. That or drums, but drums is more expensive and takes a lot of work.
Pretty much any wind instrument that isn't brass. I've been working on learning guitar, but I have arthritis, so I usually end up howling in frustration that I can't make my fingers bend the way I need to.
And I live in a little college town in western KY. Minimal music scene. My roommate's girlfriend and some of my other friends have been trying to put something together, though.
And that's probably the only way I could get one, because I'm broooooooke. I love music to death, but it's such and expensive art form.
Honestly a beginning bass would not be that expensive. Mine was like..$200 new? And it's will be a year since I bought it in February.
Yeah... see, I'm scraping pennies to pay rent and buy food at the moment. Because no one is hiring, and especially no one is hiring a college kid with no work experience to speak of.
