I've been getting calls this morning from people unable to book rooms because they're sold out. I'm working on it and more rooms should be available later this afternoon. Thanks.

ok problem fixed. The hotel has nearly 400 rooms, so we should be okay. Right now Fri/Sat are at about 175 each. If it looks like we'll need more than the 400 the Doubletree can handle, we'll start talking to other hotels as well.

    woh.

I think more people heard how it was last year and like me decided that staying at another hotel was completely unacceptable.

I already booked a room but may end up sleeping on the floor of a friends room instead. if thats the case I will cancel as soon as my other arrangements are made and you will have one extra room. Big whoop, i know, but I just started rambling.

PS: how do I find out or book/change my current book to be a speccific room?

I'd say yes. You probably don't want to make that drive for three days. :|

I might take a few people home with me 8) . most likely most of the space will be taken up by my friends, but if you have a sleeping blanket and don't mind sleeping on the floor. and unlike most of the crap I do for people, its free.

I just got a room for Aug 25th-27th and they quoted me $89 for the special rate. Did the rate change since they had to open up more rooms?

So here was the reply i got this morning:

    "Good Morning Robert-

If he was quoted a $89.00 rate he was most likely making reservations for 3 people in the room. The rate for 1 or 2 people per room is $74.00 if there is 3 or more people in the room the rate will go up 15.00 per person. So if there is 4 people in the room the rate would be 99.00."

If anyone needs a backup plan, I'll probably be able to host a couple of people at my apartment. It's about a 10 minute drive from the expo. I can even provide transportation.

If you are over 21, we can even hit up some bars in Seattle if we have time.

Just got off the phone with them, and right now there are only 13 double rooms left in the hotel, which should be allocated to our block now. If you call and don't get 'em, I'm working on negotiating a similar rate at the neighboring hotels. To give you an update, we've booked 573 room nights so far, which is actually about 150 more than we did last year.

    I have a pricing question.

I booked my hotel room on the 10th, and the information I printed out showed I was charged $74 per person plus various taxes, even though it was a reservation for Thrack and myself. I put in the code as instructed. Is it really supposed to be $74 for 1-2 people?

If so, I will want to have them reduce the amount they plan to bill me.
