How I roll (image heavy)

So, my family has an annual late August trip to Las Vegas. Tournament thing. When PAX was announced last year, it was an obvious connection. So, I spent a weekend in Vegas then I was off to Seattle. Where I just happen to have an uncle I'd been meaning to visit, a man who originally helped to get me into gaming in the first place, back in the early NES days. He doesn't really keep up with it anymore, however, he does collect vintage gaming systems, buying tons of stuff off Ebay. He's never even played most of it, he just had it in boxes. These boxes were sitting in the room I slept in, and I took the liberty of setting everything up. I took a break from playing to snap some pictures of this collection while I was there. So, here's the room I slept in while I was in town for PAX. My trip this summer is gonna be pretty much the same. A few days having fun in Las Vegas, then sleeping in this room inbetween visiting PAX. I'm sorry.

Handhelds.jpg

There's the handhelds. Roll call- Virtual Boy x3, GBA x2, GBC, Gameboy Printer, Atari Lynx, Neogeo Pocket x2, Wonderswan, Wonderswan Color, Sega Game Gear.

MiscHandhelds.jpg

A close up of some of the handhelds.

Lynx.jpg

And of the Lynx.

Setup1.jpg

This is the primary setup of the room. VCR, DVD Player, DirectTV, Phillips CD-I x2, Panasonic 3D0, SNES x3, Sega Genesis with 32X and Sega CD, Atari Jaguar with Jaguar CD, Sega Saturn, and Sega Dreamcast. (He has a Nintendo 64 as well, but he lent it and most of the games and accessories to his girlfriend's kids. So, not pictured.)

Shelf1.jpg

Closeup on the consoles. Above the Genesis there is all instruction booklets. He's got em' for at least 60% of the stuff, even the really old games.

Controllers1.jpg

The controllers.

Setup2.jpg

Annnd in this corner...NES, TI, Sega Master, Atari 7800, TurboGrafx 16 and Bally Arcade.

Shelf2.jpg

Second verse, same as the...well, you know. Closeup of these consoles.

Controllers2.jpg

Controllers for the older systems...we've certainly come a long way.

Games.jpg

Finally, the games. That whole binder there is packed.

So, yeah. Some of you might even remember sighting us, we took all those handhelds and broke them out on the second day of PAX, just outside the console room waiting on the Halo 2 demo. We'll probably cart em' out there again this year, just for kicks. And, I know, no modern systems. I didn't go without though, during the 3 weeks I was there I had brought my Xbox, Gamecube and all my games. They were hooked up downstairs, on his bigscreen. Yup. So, I'll be hangin here when I'm not at PAX. But hey, you guys enjoy staying at the hotel and all.

I used to have one of those NES flightstick type thingies, I completly forgot about it until I saw the picture of it... I miss my NES and SNES... I wish my parents had slapped some sense into me when I sold them at a yard sale...

    Jaw, meet floor.

    Floor, jaw.

Seriously, dude. That looks like what would be an Omegathon collection in 1995, ignoring the things that came out after that date... Your uncle is my god.

Speaking of Virtual Boy, maybe I should dig mine out and play some Mario Clash and whatnot.

    Why 3 V-Boys?

And my cousin threw away my old NES and all the games/game genie/game genie codes that I had for it

He was workin on it when I was out there. In fact, above the NES there, if I recall that's a sealed Intellivision game. I'm sure he's gotten the system by now, I'll have to take it for a spin this August.
