Dracula Vlad Tepes was growing weak. He had been defeated too many times, fought too many people. He was running out of options.
He sat in his throne staring with melancholy at his glass of blood. The Dark Lord sighed as he ushered his loyal servant Death into the room.
"Master, Belmont is almost here. We have not much time."
"If Belmont wants a fight, then he shall have his fight. I still have some power left in me."
"In all respect Master, I know how tired you've grown. There may be another way."
"Another way?"
"If we use what power there is left between us, we may be able to remove this castle from the confines of this world entirely. We may be able to fully restore what you once were."
"Surely you know the risks that would carry Death. With Belmont and that whip of his here..."
"Yes, the Belmont Clan would be drawn out of time and space along with the castle. But consider this as an oppurtunity."
"...I see. You believe that with the Belmonts of history pitted in battle against all of our greatest demons, we may end this struggle once and for all."
"Precisely, my Lord."
"Very well. Prepare the ceremony. One way or the other, the end is nigh..."

As Dracula awoke, the dark crimson hue of the void outside the castle could be seen swirling and undulating through the large, cracked stain-glass windows. At once he felt much stronger; his purpose much clearer than it had been in the countless years so far. It did not escape his attention though that Death was no longer by his side in the Throne Room.
“A particular nuisance, but he will no doubt find his way back.†He muttered while pouring himself a fresh glass of blood. The Dark Lord surveyed the new castle in his mind’s eye. “Yes, if he uses what wits he should possess, it should be no problem for him.†He looked further still into the castle at the souls that had been dragged into the void with it, bound as if by fate. He analysed the presences methodically, as if a general planning a great battle.
“Yes, it would seem that five of the Belmont clan are here, along with a handful of others. No matter, my finest demons have also been called to arms.†Dracula rose from his seat and walked slowly towards the door. “With the very walls of this castle coursing with so much dark energy, we should be able to merely destroy them with sheer force of will. You have been worthy foes, vampire-hunters, but tonight you will know my glory.†With this he finished his drink and flung the glass swiftly down to the floor, where it shattered in a way that some might describe as being both beautiful and hideous. Then, with a flick of his jet-black cape, he vanished into the night.
