I'm in, if it's not too late!

Also, has anyone else seen www.redhotpawn.com? It's for much slower play (so probably not what we want), but it's a great site.

Will draws count as 1/2 victories?

    They should.

You'd make 15. One more and we'd have a perfect roster.

I'm not on the list, so I can fill out that last slot if no one else shows up to play. But I'll gladly sit out if someone else wants to play.

Okay, then how about we close the roster midnight tonight? If someone else shows, they get Darian's spot; if not, Darian is in.

Why not have points go as follows

    Victory: 3

    Draw: 2

    Loss: 1

Magic: The Gathering Swiss tournaments around here go by that and it seems to work out pretty well. Then we don't worry about pesky decimals.

Darian is welcome to my spot if he wants it - a few things have come up here in the last few days, and it'd be easier for me if I wasn't in this.

However, if that would then cause a problem, I'd be very happy to stay in the game, it'd justy be much easier for me if I wasn't.

If darian takes micro's place, and nosaji is added to roster, we have 15 players.

That is how I actually had planned it. Clear and simple.

As stated before, I'm fine with either playing or not playing; I'll go ahead and drop and you can run it with the 14 players you've got, so that everyone gets a game each round.
Good luck to all of you!

No they don't. You get 1 point for drawing and 0 for losing, you know, like in most team sports competitions. Seems logical to me since it encourages people to actually give a damn about winning.

Seriously, if you guys are deliberately trying to end in a stalemate I will break you.

0/.5/1 is mathematically equivalent to 1/2/3, so I have no problem with it. I think 0/1/2 makes more sense from a layman's perspective, though.

I think he suggested (as is usually done) 0/1/3. This makes a win and a loss better than two draws.

For what it's worth, I vote for 0/1/3 as well.

Chess is usually done 0, 1/2, 1 though.

And trying to draw is often the right thing to do -- if you're losing, 1/2 is much better than 0.

It takes a certain amount of strategery to pull off a stalemate. :P

If we don't want to deal with half-points, 0/1/2 is the way to go.
