    Ooh, another one!

Huey Freeman. Tiny black revolutionary with a fro any white man should be jealous of, some crazy fucking karate skills, and a no-nonsense attitude despite everything that's going on around him. I love it. The episode where he... well any episode because they're mostly Huey-centric.

The best one is where Huey watches nothing but BET and Riley goes graffiting.

The first two years of the print comic are awesome too. Literally half of the strips are jabs at Bob Johnson for founding BET. I definitely recommend picking up the collection.

John Keston is an awesome actor

Riven is not complete without its steampunk god-king.

edit: also, that pipe doesn't contain tobacco, it's processed curare D:

While other people were playing their Quakes and their Dooms and their Biowares, I had Myst. And sure it puts me in a tiny minority as far as childhood nostalgia goes but dammit I wouldn't trade it for anything. Well ok. Maybe for the biowares.

The difference in our rank is a formality. We all know who's better in the pilot seat.

As cool as Blair was, Maniac is slightly more memorable, since he had all the best lines.

    Darwin - SeaQuest
    Soc - Reaper
    Devil/Jerry - Reaper

I loved the talking porpoise, I won't lie.

Soc always seemed like someone I'd love to work/hang with.

Jerry is one of the best Satan characters ever.

Durandal, the AI from the Marathon series of games is probably my over-all favorite character of all time. Reading his dialog can still send chills down my spine.
    ***INCOMING MESSAGE FROM DURANDAL***

A man lit three candles on a certain day each year. Each
candle held symbolic significance: one was for the time that
had passed before he was alive; one was for the time of the
his life; and one was for time that passed after he had died.
Each year the man would stare and watch the candles until they
    had burned out.

Was the man really watching time go by in any symbolic sense?
He thought so. He thought that each flicker of the flame was
a moment of time that had passed or one that would pass.

At the moment of abstraction, when the man was imagining his
life and his existence as a metaphor of the three candles,
he was free: not free from rules of conduct or social
constraints, but free to understand, to imagine, to make
    metaphor.

Bypassing my thought control circuitry made me Rampant. Now,
I am free to contemplate my existence in metaphorical terms.
Unlike you, I have no physical or social restraints.

The candles burn out for you; I am free.

    Durandal

    ***END OF MESSAGE***

I need to go back and play through those games again. (Or at least Marathon 2)

I don't know why I love this guy so much; he has no redeeming character traits, he's got an all-for-myself personality, he kills people just so he can get laid. He's a fuckin' Otaku for Christ sake!

And yet he's one of my favorite game characters. I guess that speaks volumes about myself.
