Though Helo is still unavailable, the human fleet has another crisis on their hands to deal with.
    Crisis
    Food Shortage

    foodshortage.jpg

Get the names of those ships. Tell their captains to go on emergency rations immediately. - Laura Roslin

President Gaius Baltar must choose either:

    A) -2 Food.

    or

    B) -1 Food. The President discards 2 Skill Cards: then the current player discards 3 Skill Cards.

Frak. That's valuable food, but it's also 5 frakking skill cards. Sorry, Helo.

I think I have to go with B. I discard Engineering 3 - Scientific Research and Politics 1 - Consolidate Power.

And no offense, Hylianbunny, but I really like Darian's color scheme considerably more. The pastels just aren't doing it for me. It feels like we're playing "Battlethtar Galactica" and fighting the "Thylonth."

President Baltar works out a plan to deal with the food shortage (Engineering 3 and Politics 1) while Helo uses a number of resources in his escape from Caprica (pending). The fleet uses significantly less food than they would have otherwise.

Raiders begin their approach, intending to pick off the civilian ships.

We seem to be in a pretty safe position, so I'll move to Command and play Tactics 2 - Launch Scout

I choose to scout the crises deck - we've been hitting jump prep so far, let's continue it. Additionally, it would be nice if I can get an XO before the jump, as I have a lot of scouts to get us a good destination.

Well this kind of sucks. No Jump Prep.

Suggestions? I'm leaning towards option A, because I've been checked out by Baltar and proven to be clean, unless it's the very unlikely event that we're both cylons, and at this point, he's still the #1 chance to be a cylon. It would also free up Baltar to spam administration for politics cards if he didn't have to be President, leaving the pilots and chief to do their thing on Galactica.

I really think me jumping in Weapons Control right now is a bad move. Chief is already there, there's only a one in four shot of me shooting down the Heavy Raider, and the odds of us getting two Heavy Raider activations before we get two jump preps are--while not zero--heavily weighted in our favor. In any case, the proper place to attack that raider from would be Command, not Weapons Control, and the best time to deal with it would be when the Heavy Raider is right in front of the launch pad, we can XO Adama, and he can take three shots at it.

Honestly, at the moment, we're in good shape. So, I discard Politics 3 - Investigative Committee, move to the Press Room on Colonial One, and activate it.

Well, I can't do what I wanted to do. I can jump us (which I really don't think is a good idea), get more skill cards, switch the presidency, or attack from Weapons Control or Command. My inclination is to get more skill cards, so I'm not constantly jumping back and forth from Colonial One to Galactica.

Personally, I don't think the current situation warrants jumping now; maybe up the jump track one more, but not now.

The only circumstances I would think a jump now would be at all a good idea would be if someone had a +2 die roll card. Barring that, I'd agree that I trust our pilots to take care of the civvies until we can get another jump prep, but someone has to take that heavy raider down. Launching some more vipers wouldn't be a bad idea, either... as I can fix 'em if they break with no loss of turn.

I guess that was my point. If we get good rolls from our pilots, and take down that heavy raider, we may not need to jump at -1; we can wait for an auto-jump. XO on a pilot plus a 4-shots attack card is 4 shots and a move to protect. Twice. (One for each pilot)
