    This should fix the crashes.

    You'll find that it's a small download, because the problem as far as we can tell was ONE FUCKING LINE OF FUCKING TEXT, and not even code, just fucking plain text in a .txt. Took us a day of hard labour to narrow it down though.

    If it's not a fix I'll kill myself.

    That's the only thing this update fixes, by the way, although it does add server options to the Create Server screen, the most notable of which controls the max zombie count.
    Also servers should default to 8 players now.

    I just crashed again, but how can I check to make sure I've got it installed the right way? I didn't see any difference at the create server button.

    Yeah I messed it up, did it correctly now, but I still crashed when trying to join a server.

    Well the update fixed my crashing at least.

    Anyway, congrats on release, I've been following (and by following I mean lurking in) the development of this since the original thread. From what little I've been able to play by myself, it's amazingly fun. It's completely unpolished and buggy as fuck but for me that's part of the charm; it feels like a little homebrew labour of love.

    Hope to get a few games in with you other incredibly gay cowboys, timezone permitting.

    P.S. Shoutout for LaCabra being from Brisbane, something in the water here I tells' ya.

    I'm not familiar with the compile process for a mod but what are the chances of getting a linux binary for hosting a dedicated server?

    Lacabra and I spent several hours on this last night and we're pretty certain we're getting close to the issue. We thought we had it fixed (obviously). Fixed as in we would change a setting. Crash. Change it back. Works! Repeat several times followed by high fives and sighs of relief.

    Of course mere moments after he uploads the "fix", it stops working for BOTH of us. Unbelievable.

    I do believe we're close to the issue, though. Our successes last night couldn't have been coincidence.

    Played a little this morning with maybe 3 other people? Fun as hell driving that truck honking the horn running down a big pile of zeds. That is when I can actually get into a server and when that server actually has people on.

    I'm just happy to see you guys working this hard on trying to fix this problem. It's had to have been a while since you started and a lot of hard work to bring SS out and I can understand the frustration of running into a bug like this, but it is really reassuring to see you guys on the case like this.

    I found that joining games by following people on your friends list made for crash-proof gaming.

    It's getting that first person into a server without crashing that is the trick though.
