There's a lot more people showing a lot more interest... Well, I'm going to go ahead and back out. I don't have anything beyond the basic core books, and I'm far from the most experienced 4e player, so I'd probably be holding the party back.
Well it's your call but Php games usually give players plenty of time to figure out what they like to do, and 4E is pretty easy to get a hang of so I doubt it would be an issue.
Also someone should tell me the roles of all these new classes so I can make sure the party is balanced. Right now I'm planning on a standard party of 1 Leader, 1 Defender, 2 Strikers, and 1 Controller.
The black ops adventure definitely sounds interesting. Could you describe the government that's hired the party a little more? Are they benevolent rulers defending a kingdom they've worked for generations to build, or iron-fisted tyrants subverting those who would topple them in the people's name, or just hereditary nobles trying to protect their own interests and station in life, or something in between?
Also, would the party be expected to be extra sneaky? I have a dwarf cleric rolled up from another D&D thread that I could use, but he has a Dex score of 8, which would be a hindrance to a covert group :P
Probably should have replied to this a while back.
The Kingdom of Thazal is strong and benenvolent monarchy as far as the common folks are concerned they have been able to keep a stable peace and high standard of living for a majority of the territories they control. They also have the backing of The Church of Bahamut and it's Paladin order the most prominent religion in human lands. Of course there are plenty individuals connected to the court looking to increase their own power wherever possible, but they see the Kingdom as a means to an end.
Of course no one can ever be happy and there are many individuals and groups opposed to this rule whether it be claims of theocracy, opposition to monarchy, or they just want to see the Grand Castle burn to the ground, The Kingdom still has many enemies.
As for Stealth, it really depends on the party but if you want to be able to sneak in and back-stab your target without anyone noticing Sneak will obviously be an important skill to have.
Valindethorus, Dragonborn Fighter.
Valindethorus is a vicious fighter, provoking a duel or fight to the death whenever he sees an opportunity to fight someone that will give him a challenge. His personal goal is to be the most notorius gladiator in the known world. His drive pushes him into near obsessiveness with finding new opponents to test his skills against.
Vashrun Dalar, Human Ranger.
Vashrun is one of the "city" rangers, prefering the ordered chaos of the urban jungle over the untamed chaos of the open wilds. He roams from place to place, taking whatever jobs he happens to stumble on, but he can't seem to find anywhere that he can stay put for very long due to his unquenchable thirst for getting into places where he isn't wanted and making the wrong people angry.
Is my myth-weaver character sheet working properly? I went in to tinker with some stuff and my powers, items, class features, and so on hadn't been saved.

Works when i click on it (the Star-pact Warlock right?).
Also, I drew up another striker, in case you didn't like my Halfling Rogue.
Lucan is a recent "graduate" of one of the secretive temples that all avengers are trained at. An idealist to the highest degree, he has not had experience with people outside of the temple long enough to lose some of those ideals like many others of his caste. He is constantly attempting to push his ideals onto those around him, which tends to be annoying to many, which he simply ignores happily.
Raised away from many other elves, Lucan has many of the instinctive loves of his race, but has little knowledge of their culture, other than the religions that he had studied.
Appearance
Leather armor etched with holy symbols of Bahamut, Lucan prides himself on keeping himself and his gear in pristine condition. Constantly cleaning his equipment has honed the edge of his fullblade to a razor sharp edge, with the flat of the blade easily doubling as a mirror from polishing. Unlike many of his race, his golden hair is often tied back in a ponytail, though he still keeps it long.
Incredibly pale blue eyes for an elf gaze out judgmentally from underneath a sharp, angry looking brow. Except for when laughing, Lucan's mouth is rarely smiling, prefering to enjoy life internally rather than show his emotions and give potential enemies an edge on what he may be thinking.

Ok so it looks like the Black Ops campaign is the most requested as of now and so that will be our main theme. However I'll make sure discovery will be an important aspect also.
Thanks again to everyone who's signing up, your not gonna make it easy for me to decide who to play :P
Aldarion is quiet and slow to anger, but reckless when the situation degenerates to combat. He also tends to get annoyed and fidgety, being quite young for an elf, when nothing is happening.
A short, thin elf with bright green eyes, dark brown hair and the tanned skin of a farmer, he wears fitted, matte black leather inscribed with symbols of the Raven Queen and a cloth mask that obscures the lower half of his face. A golden symbol in the shape of a raven is strapped to his left bicep.
He refuses to talk about his past, apart from his time spent on the family farm, and has no interest in the every day goings on of life.
Background:
After serving the Raven Queen as an assassin for 20 years, Aldarion left the temple where he trained and went back home to his parents' farm. He spent three months there, toiling in the fields, before he realized why he had left in the first place. Life on a farm moved entirely too slowly for him. Someone with the ability to assassinate kings was not meant to spend his life following plow and ox. Since leaving the farm he has been wandering aimlessly, peddling his talents to local leaders and trying to avoid other agents of the Raven Queen.
His experiences as an offical agent of the Raven Queen have shaped him into an assassin used to both sneaking about and engaging in pitched combat. During combat he is relentless, singling out a foe and seeking that enemy out from wherever he is on the battlefield. His training has led him toward powers that lend him the ability to move around the battlefield without being injured.
Ash is highly loyal to his companions, often being the first to charge into battle. He is at home in the wilderness and has a deep respect for its power, he is uncomfortable in cities (though he is used to being there). He is loyal to his home nation of Vlax and the government in Thazal, but tends to avoid politics as much as possible.
Appearance:
Ash is named for his unusual hair color - a very dark gray speckled with spots of light gray. He has light brown skin. Ash is short, with thick muscles and the trademark canines of a Longtooth Shifter.
Background:
Ash grew up along the major river in Vlax with a small shifter tribe. His life was uneventful until a powerful sea creature attacked his tribe near the river. Ash tried to defend his family as best he could but was left mortally wounded on the riverbank. He awoke weeks later in a small town, recovering from his wounds but there was no word of anyone else. A caravan passed through on their way to the capital of Thazal; Ash joined up as a guard, hoping to petition to hunt the river creature down and kill it.
His petition failed. Left with nothing, Ash joined with a group of adventurers hoping to eventually convince them to hunt the creature...
Since some people have multiple characters I've decided instead to choose randomly based on the user and if there is a open role for their character. I think this might be the fairest method but if you guys have other suggestions I'm willing to listen.
Thanks again for all the entries, I'm looking forward to starting this.
I know I'm cutting this fairly fine but I'd like to throw my hat in the ring with two characters.
Dr. Basil Bellwood, D.AT, D.AS, M.ME
Everything you need to know about him is on the sheet. Change any character or setting details as you see fit.
I also have Esh, an Elven orphan who raised himself in the wilds, learning to hunt and coexist with the animals and to make his own weapons. He has only recently been reintroduced to society, and speaks in a pidgin dialect of Elvish and the little Common he's learned. He's not well-socialised and not particularly diplomatic, but not a bad person deep down.
Ritanis is very rigid, some would say blunt, in his speech. He is more at home yelling orders on a battlefield than in the polite chattering of a court. Ritanis has few acquaintances outside of his fellow soldiers and adventurers but that doesn't bother him.
He speaks little of his time in the feywild, preferring to put that stage of his life behind him, though he will openly talk about his travels in the world to those he trusts.
Background
Born in the feywild, Ritanis served as a soldier for a noble Eladrin for many years before being exiled at the noble's angry whim. Having now wandered the world for nearly 14 years he seeks to build a place for himself. Discontent with the life of an average citizen he has once again volunteered to serve in a military, that of the Kingdom of Thazal.
Kaerin Evitain, Human Cleric
No picture yet, and my powers aren't filled out totally, but i've got the book right here with that info so i'm working on it.

Shouldn't your AC be lower? +3 hide armor +1 light shield, +1 dex?

Your AC uses either your Dex or Int modifier, whichever is higher.

You're right. For some reason I was thinking the Int modifier aspect was only for certain classes.
I'm going to PM all you guys with the same information and I expect a reply by This Saturday so I know you at least visit the forums regularly. If I don't get a reply by Saturday you will be giving up your spot to another player. Feel free to make any modifications to your sheet if you'd like, and let me know in your reply if you did. If we confirm everyone is available to play we'll hopefully start the game thread this Saturday.
If your weren't selected, my greatest apologies but obviously not everyone could play. However everyone who was not chosen are considered reserves. Thanks again to everyone for entering and your interest.
Well 9 of the 21 characters submitted were humans so there was a good chance of a human majority. What this says about the employment policies of the party or the Kingdom however I'm not sure. That or the RNG is racist.
Or I could shift to a rogue, the free spirited wanderer concept works just as well for either class, plus it gives the fighter some companionship up close with the baddies(just a thought though)

Me too. I hope I get to use this guy. Either here, or somewhere else. Hopefully here.

Also, I'm going to add in a striker class, just in case you fill the Leader roll with someone else.
That's a good question - can we grab background traits from FR or SOW, and then apply them to regions in your world?
Edited my post upthread with one background, other to come. G'nite.
Probably should have replied to this a while back.

Since they seem to be RP related you can have them for free I'd say.
