So whats going on with the ratings?

Do we have the ability to rate all the threads we encounter? I thought this was limited to Awesome Posts and the few G&T threads that made the cut. Now it seems that I can rate anything.

    Any thread can be rated, but five or more people must vote on it for the ratings to show up.

    Someone had an April Fool's joke where they'd get people to rate the Steam thread 5 stars and everything else in G&T one star.

    That was considered a prank? I thought it was something to do with the PA-community released source mod Shotgun Sunrise. They had the idea of rating the thread 5 stars to make it stand out more than the other threads to get people who wandered randomly into G&T to come look at it and possibly play the mod.
