Anytime people do that now I'm reminded of the Medical Examiner from CSI: Miami.

Mostly because I'm starting to think it's kind of creepy how she's so familiar with the corpses instead of professionally detached.

Honestly I half expect them to do an episode where Horatio walks in to the morgue to find her astride the body of some dead guy, riding it like a naughty donkey.

Jackie Earle Haley has been cast as Freddy Krueger in the new remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street, the Hollywood Reporter's Risky Business blog has revealed. Haley was apparently in talks for the part for a while and it looks like those talks have ended with him landing the role. He doesn't have a lot of time to try on striped sweaters, however: The movie starts filming May 5, in Chicago. Looks like Elm Street has moved to the midwest.

I take it that's the statistics for the US?

I'm not sure it would hold true here, given the number of terrorist incidents in the eighties and nineties and the fact that police here don't routinely carry firearms.

Well given the circumstances that typically govern being killed by police offers, the number isn't so dramatic.

    Yeah, I think US
The following ratios were compiled using data from 2004 National Safety Council (NSC) Estimates, a report based on data from The National Center for Health Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau. In addition, 2003 mortality data from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) was used.

I'm always fond of pointing people to this article:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrorist_incidents_in_the_U.S.

And pointing out the proportion of them carried out by Islamic extremists is relatively low.

You know those people who cross the street to get away from black people? I'm almost to that point with cops. The only reason I don't is because I'm afraid they'd use it as an excuse to beat me.
