I used Ubuntu exsclusively for a couple of months about 2 years ago. I spent loads of time tweaking WINE and getting LOTRO to run fairly flawlessly. Even got Ventrillo etc working. (Oh I'm sure that stuff runs out of the box under WINE these days, didn't back then though.)
Truth is, when I'm not at work, The PC is a game box. So yes, that is my deciding factor.
Windows is like that roommate that always ate your food and broke all your dishes until you get fed up and barricade yourself in your own partition. Uh, room.
