I don't work directly with him. It's for a big logistics company - I oversee a home delivery operation for Sears. My sister's boyfriend runs most of western canada for this company. I don't report directly to him, but he's my boss's boss, basically.
Anyway, you didn't say if I was getting hosed or not. :P
Well 10% gross (I'm trying to remember that in math terms does that mean 10% of take home or pre tax) is pretty high for a car payment. Though I'm not in Canada so I don't know if thats normal.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Zimmydoom, Zimmydoom
Flew away in a balloon
Had sex with polar bears
While sitting in a reclining chair
Now there are Zim-Bear hybrids
Running around and clawing eyelids
Watch out, a Zim-Bear is about to have sex with yooooooou!
Nova I am wary of financial risks so I would tell you to wait a month before you buy the car and you can be sure your job is solid and you will have more to make a bigger down payment maybe

Pre tax.
I guess it might be high for a car payment, but here's how I came up with it as my limit:
My new job pays me once a week. My old job payed me twice a month. In my new job, four paycheques a week = ~$400 a month more than my old job, plus a fifth paycheque four or five months of the year.

i'm job hunting right now and i'm really at an impasse with my life
Quarter-life crisis, huh?
Any idea what kind of direction you want to go in? Could you see yourself teaching (requires a lot of patience) or working in marketing/public relations (are you outgoing and personable) or do you have a particular hobby or interest that you would enjoy doing for a living?

I don't, but used Subarus pretty much go for the new price around here unless they're >5 years old and I'm sick of buying old cars. That's all I've ever had. I could buy a used Civic and that'd be okay, but that was a backup plan.

Apparently I missed one of these.
It doesn't bother me, but unless I go YESSIR straight away you are better off assuming I've wandered off somewhere if it doesn't get made in a few seconds.

To keep things in context, I still haven't had sex since January 2002.
So mostly I just have a steady stream of new frustrations.
This would make me laugh heartily.
