Also, plain gray countertop and blue background are boring as hell.
suggestions for countertop/bg?
was thinking of going with some textures or something but iuno
yeah, texturing would take care of the countertop. A light grain ought to do. As for the background, some objects in desaturated hues ought to fix that. Some objects that say "drug lab" or "stoner den" rather than "nice suburban kitchen".

i was actually going for suburban kitchen haha
i always just think of the nice house in pulp fiction
At first glance, I thought he was snorting it through celery. Which seems impossible, but appropriate, I guess. Either way, this is hilarious and awesome.
I'm going to have to second earthwormadam about that counter, though.

ill post an update later, but i did the following:
1) changed the tattoo to a sexy lady rabbit!
2) added some carrot-tops (the thing not the person) on the counter
3) made the counter go straight instead of being a corner
4) added a marble texture
5) changed the background to NEON PURPLE. i dont know, i like it
6) made the font bigger and changed them both
Actually, that's exactly what I was talking about.
Look at you.
You started a thread for a WIP, took and considered all the advice, and got your shit done. In a timely manner, no less. You're industrious, mully. That's what you are. Industrious.
While I fiddle around with things, throw a hissy fit and give up if things don't go just right.

Easter Card #2.. (i am having fun with these terrible-lifestyles cards)
no where near finished, but i like to get feedback WHILE i'm working on it -- makes it easier for me to incorporate/consider it
some questions:
1) how many wine bottles would be too many wine bottles?
2) i was thinking of making a 'distance' gradient and putting wine bottles trailing off into the distance -- too much?
3) i was also thinking of doing the 'web 2.0' reflection, to make it look like he's on a shiny "kitchenesque" floor. thoughts?
4) should the puke have chunks or would that be too much?
5) the word "AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaugh" will be floating up from him -- should it go straight into the distance, or curling up .. or ... i dont know!!
all help is greatly appreciated.
OH. most importantly:
i need a caption. the last one was, "hope your easter is dope!" want something similar.. the only ones i can think of are like, "happy easter, make sure it's not wasted!" or "today i'm drunk on easter spirit" or "chicken-dance your heart-out today!" (but i dont think it would work unless i made people in the back "nanananana"ing, which is what is giving him that pounding hangover headache)
drew this while i was awaiting responses (and lunch to end) but damn you none of you are saying anything. DOES THAT MEAN ITS ON THE ROAD TO PERFECTION? or does it mean you are being nice. has to be one of the two!
figuring i should do some sketches like this at lunches ... wondering if i can lure my friends to be models at my desk
this took uhhhh 35 minutes, just because i havent painted anything in a long time and ... oh wait thats a lie. oh crap i never posted that! must find.
Definitely tone down the backgrounds saturation, it's a bit distracting. And I think you could throw at least a couple more bottles in the foreground without it getting cluttered.
As for the tagline, probably the one with drunk in it or maybe the wasted one. You need something simple like the last one that worked so well.

i suppose that would be more apparent in the larger version
crits please!
not finished but i would like to hear what you have to say as i work on it!

oh ok
that makes sense with the movie image in mind

i've handed this out around my office a bit. good reactions.
awesome
though, why did you shade the tattoo's leg?
naknaknaknaknak
They definitely look like they're going to the side a bit, but you have to remember that he's a junkie rabbit, and that's to be expected.
I think all the of the changes were for the better, but Tam has a good point with that leg shading.
it looks a LOT lighter on my laptop ... doh
will fix it before i post it anywhere else
thanks!
