Great over all except for what others already pointed out. I only have one suggestion: Don't make the Zombies fast Zombies (also known as "running" Zombies). Those... Those are not so good.
No need to worry. My zombies shuffle around and moan.
No complaint about the comic, but do you have an RSS feed?
I don't personally have one, since i don't know how to put an RSS feed together. Serializer.net, which also hosts Flight of the Living Dead, has an RSS feed... but it's for ALL their comics, not just FoLD.
Ryan North, who does Dinosaur Comics made this RSS site, it seems like it might be useful for just this purpose. Hope you can get something working!
I'm doing a redesign of the cover, because I'm printing a sixteen-page preview for the New York Comic-Con and I want to have a kickass cover for it.
Here are pencils in progress:
The idea is that the plane will be done realistically, and the zombie hand and clouds in the background will be done in a very graphic style, like cardboard cut-outs with flat colors.
It is better than the first cover, but do some more thumbnails before you go any further. It still looks clunky and I don't like how the title is squeezed in at the bottom. To me, the elements aren't really working together well.

Agreed. I think the composition right now could be improved upon quite a bit - thumbnails would be key.
Okay, but can you suggest how I might improve it? I mean, I did a bunch of thumbnails, this was the layout I thought worked best. What specifically about it do you think doesn't work?

The title seems oddly placed - it looks squished in the corner, and doesn't look like a "main focus". The overall composition seems off, too - the plane, which is going to be realistic and detailed, cutting off the lower third of the page...while above, there's an excessive amount of "space" - at least in comparison. I think that will be even more apparent when you'd finish the cover - the upper two-thirds being simple flat color with minimal detail, and the lower third containing the plane (which is supposed to be realy detailed and realistic) along with the title.
I'm not entirey sure if I'm conveying this correctly, but that's basically what looked wrong, that I could put into words. There's just something about how my eye follows the lines of the page that doesn't work for me.
Hm. I think you will get some better ideas if you just sit down and brainstorm. Just do some chicken scratch till you find a really good, eye catching concept. For one, your hands in the comics have been pointed out as a bit wonky, so why throw a giant one right on the cover? Spend a little time thinking up the concept because it is the first thing readers will see.
I like simple covers, but a slightly wierd cover also grabs my attention. To throw out a few ideas, how bout a closeup of a suitcase tag with Flight of the Living Dead? How bout a cover designed like those cheesy airplane safety brochures with the pictures? Flight of the Living Dead written on the side of a plane? Flight of the Living Dead written on a bag of peanuts? Just throwin' some out there...
I'd like the hand to be looming even more. Perhaps have the plane sticking out from between the draped fingers, as if a giant zombie hand is about to grab ahold of the plane.
Alternatively, an outside shot of a plane window with a zombie hand laid up against it. Maybe have a pair of eyes staring out from the inside?
It's original, and it avoids the possiblity that people would think your work is a parody.
I second this. If you aren't comfortable sticking quotes from Romero's films into the comic, why have a title that associates so strongly with them in the first place?

Because paying tribute to classics does not necessarily mean quoting the classics directly.
That French is kind of goofy, it's wrong grammatically, and also you might want to say something else like "Que passe-t-il?" or "Qu'est-ce qui s'passe?"

That's what I get for trusting Babelfish. Thanks for the help, I'll change it for the print version.
You missed your update last week. You made me sad.
I know, me too. Blame "Final Fantasy III" for Nintendo DS, because that's why I missed the update. I'm a week behind, but I'm going to catch up, and post the page that was supposed to go up this week on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Holy crap this is awesome. Not sure if I like how quickly the shit hits the fan, and some of the earlier reactions seem a bit muted, but goddamn this is a good read.
...yeah, aren't I great at this constructive criticism thing?
Just started to read this but wow, this is really good. Maybe hopping into the action so quickly wasn't the best idea, but, it actually kinda works and I'm enjoying it so far. Plus, you know, Zombies are cool.
I have now added this to my webcomic weekly read, good work and keep it up!
Also, either title is good, I kind of like Flight of the Living Dead a little better though.
I think the biggest crit I have for you right now is update. Constantly. No breaks for you! I want more!
Yeah, here's the thing. I'm also working on a graphic novel in addition to this webcomic. As a matter of fact, Flight of the Living Dead was conceived of as a warm-up thing... a quick comic to do before I started on my other comic, and something to experiment with and do something of my own (since my GN is written by someone else). But in the last couple months FoLD has been taking up ALL of my time, to the point that I need to scale back. I'm going to keep trying to do one page a week, but it's not going to be as necessary to me to do it from now on. The GN I'm working on is taking priority at this point, and FoLD is going to have to take the backseat. So, it'll be done when it's done, and there's a new page going up tomorrow (it's almost finished), but updates might be fewer and farther between from now on.
Sorry. I wish I could do a page of FoLD every day because I love doing this comic so very much. I just can't.
The girl's lower lip in the last panel seems to jut out too much..
Oh yeah, and I was going to mention that Kat has a lipring, so sometimes it looks like her bottom lip is jutting out too far. I've noticed it too, and I'm gonna try to make it more obvious in the future that it's her lip ring, not her lip.
Trivia: Kat's actually based in looks on my ex-girlfriend Amanda. And Amanda had that haircut and the lip ring and freckles, and always dressed in black, so when it came time to design Kat (who I wanted to be sort of my ideal girl since I'd have to draw her A LOT over the following twelve months), I just drew Amanda.
This just caught my attention and I had to comment on it because I love anything to do with zombies. I don't know if you are either, or just wanted to make a zombie comic, but there is a zomibe movie about zombies on a plane coming out this year and it's called Plane Dead which was the reason this topic caught my attention. Maybe you do know about it or not but either way I like how the idea came about and hope that it gets better and better with gruesome zombie attack scenes.
I did hear about it, but not until well after I'd started developing this comic. I was about to scrap my idea, until a friend told me that I should go ahead and do mine anyway, because people come up with the same ideas independently of each other all the time, and who knows? Mine might end up being the better of the two.
Plane Dead seems like a dumb name, though. I was concerned a bit about the legal issues of using the name "Flight of the Living Dead" (until I found out Night of the Living Dead is in the public domain now), and I had the name "Dead Air" as a back-up. Dead Air is a much better name than Plane Dead.
Dead Air would be a better title for a Night of the Living Dead in Talk Radio.

Coincidentally enough, I know a guy over the Internets who recently emailed me and told me he's working on a short zombie film and wondered if I would take a look at the script. It's about some people who find themselves trapped at a broadcast studio during a zombie outbreak. The title is "Dead Air."

ok, not really. but i really always want and excuse to say that. i'm so excited that the idea is out there and being worked on.

Hmm. Well, I put together a page, but it says it doesn't work because:

They are changing the name of their movie to FLIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and came across my site while Googling the name.
