I know it's not the same, but since I just finished Dune last night that article reminds me a little of how I'd visualized the ornithopters.

Neat stuff, though. I'm interested in how they'll end up replicating preening.

I also had no idea that dolphins wrinkled their skin to reduce drag?

I've never found anything dune-related to be a slog.

But I remember my ex fell asleep about five minutes into the sting version. Which is the best one

Yeah, they've also developed a 'fisheye' mirror that doesn't reverse the image. That stuff is nuts.

Holy shit, I thought those were some sort of small formation. Those sand dunes would be incredible to see on the surface- along with all the other natural wonders of Mars.

so why is there a curved driver-side mirror ban in the US? Manufacturers giving out shitty mirrors? Safety?

The one Hicks made would be a million times better to have.

so Amazon.com hates the gays, apparently

they claim it is a "glitch" in the listing system which is being fixed as we speak

so they have birthed an artificial intelligence within their site code, and it's a bigot :|

it was a systematic delisting of books with pro-gay themes

meanwhile, a book about preventing homosexuality in your children still shows up, along with books with similar hetero-themed sex.

what kind of computer glitch assesses the nature of the content and makes the call based on the gender of the subjects?

So who has ideas on how the brain works? My genetics lab professor says it's way more about identifying patterns and compiling algorithms than it is about raw data memory.

He didn't say where he got that from, if he formulated that on his own, and I forgot to ask. Does anyone know if what he said is valid?

The finding that PPD often plagues people who have marital problems or little outside support led biologists Randy Thornhill and F. Bryant Furlow of the University of New Mexico and me independently to propose that PPD has an evolved function. Many animals improve their chances of passing on their genes if they desert their young when food or parenting help is scarce and invest instead in future offspring that are more likely to survive and reproduce.

    interesting

kinda curious what sort of mortified face new mothers would pull if you propose that theory to them
