Well, the G1 version in IDW's series was pretty cool until the series got hit over the head with the suck stick. His beatdown of Starscream was probably one of the best ever.

How exactly did he get hit with a suck stick?

Well ignoring the Lol communism orgin they gave him, All hail Megatron basically made him an indecisive loser who has no clue what he's doing.
Seriously Starscream has him by the balls STARSCREAM.

Snarl getting some screen time, and allusions to his old name, Slag

    Wreck-Gar and an accordian

I'm glad they addressed the insult part of his name, and that's why they couldn't call him that. Just wish Snarl and Swoop would talk on screen. Grimlock implied they could, after all.

Optimus forced laserbeak to transform, thats fucking awesome. Didn't G1 do something similar to megatron somewhere along the way?

It was pretty good though some fans are complaining about what happened to Soundwave.
It's not like he was built Cybertronian-tough in the first place and who knows what he made his new body out of. Seeing as he's more brains then brawn, I could see him go down easy in hand-to-hand fights.

    In regards to that-
Soundwave never actually finished "evolving" in his debut episode. Megatron's design specs seem to indicate Soundwave would have become Cybertron sized if he had gotten continued Key exsposure. As it stand he has to make due with his gestalt ability.

Did anyone else catch the "El Kabong" sound effect when Prime smacked Soundwave with the guitar? Classic.

    Yeah, I did notice that.

I'm not entirely sure how the show could get much better than Optimus Prime rocking the fuck out with a guitar that is actually Laserbeak. I think we've reached some kind of pinnacle.

One of the korean animator dudes leaked new characters for the next two episodes:

Flareup, a female Autobot that should be familiar to anyone who's seen this: Bee in the City

And Grandus, a big fat formerly-Japan-only Autobot most noted in that his transformation to base mode consisted entirely of him falling forward on his stomach.

I figured Grandus was real. I imagine a girl named Flareup probably has a hard time getting dates.

They'd just have to redeco/retool the Samurai Prowl mold.

You know what mold I want? The Cybertron Clocker mold. Really, what got me interested was the fact that the mold was used as the Maximal version of the Seekers.

    they won't. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Welker#Transformers
Welker was asked to audition to reprise his original role of Megatron in the 2007 live action Transformers movie. Apparently due to a conflict in schedules, Welker never met with the producers or director Michael Bay. Bay, however, had Welker send him a couple of recorded lines and concluded that Welker's Megatron did not fit his new interpretation of the character and that having him use a different voice would defeat the purpose of casting him

you know, the way they alter the voices, its really hard to tell who's voicing anyway (with the exception of Peter Cullen)

they better use a similar synth filter for soundwave though
