    Fuck Sci-Fi Channel. Seriously.

"We'll make this shitty miniseries so just in case someone in another country makes a movie that's halfway decent they can't possibly show it hear until our license is up!"

    Assholes.

52 was kind of lackluster again, and I'm right on the verge of dropping Wolverine and X-Men, because neither of them makes any sort of sense. And Action Comics is getting a bit ridiculous with the scheduling.

I like the new direction Iron Man is going, and Doctor Strange, Eternals and 1602: F4 all had really satisfying conclusions.

    And X-Factor was really fantastic.

Blue Beetle- Raphael A's pencils aren't really doing it for me. They're not bad, but it's a bit hard to understand the action sequences, and even when he's inking himself they come out kind of scratchy and muddled, and not in a good Damion Scott way. I'd murder someone to get Skottie Young or Sean Galloway on this book though. Jon Rogers' dialogue is still good, though his pacing is, as always predictable and kind of boring. As for the story itself, it does, to its credit, manage to pack in a lot of stuff. First Jaime returns from space, then discovers a cow mutilation (via energy weapons), which leads Peacemaker and him into a fight with a giant monster, which culminates in a meeting with The Reach. Hopefully none of that's too spoilerific, as The Reach is advertised right on the cover, and the monster thing isn't exactly a huge plot development.

Not a bad book, just kind of average. I doubt I'll keep buying it after Rogers addresses Ted Kord's connection to the scarab and the BB legacy as he's said he would. B-

Connor Hawke- Another great action comic. This is basically what I want out of Blue Beetle. It's average, but in an extremely fun, awesome way. There's no big hidden symbolism, or life lessons, but there are likeable characters, awesome fights, and cool developments. Donovan's pencils are just killer, and Dixon's straightforward sensibilities mesh well to make a great kung fu superhero fest. This mini's also introduced a great bit player, an endorsement-chasing chickenhearted Olympic archer named Tony Crowfoot, who I'm really hoping makes it out of the series alive. A-

X-Factor- PAD continues to write his ass off here, and the new artist, Raimondi I think, gives this book a great, consistent feel. In this issue Jamie continues his quest to absorb his wayward dupes and make himself whole again. But, when he's confronted with a dupe who's married, had a child, and become a pillar of his community as a small-town preacher, he's forced to make some hard choices. An incredibly tense, heartfelt issue. A

Civil War: Frontline- Just awful. Save your money and read about it in the Civil War thread. Fuck, I know Jenkins can write better than this but he's either phoning it in tremendously, or got really lucky on his Sentry minis. I don't know. Art looks painfully mediocre as well. F

Runaways- BKV and Alphona's final issue, wherein Chase tries to ressurrect Gert, the Runaways go after him, and three pissed off giants try to claim a soul. The creative team is as solid as ever, the story hits all the right notes, and two surprise guests show up at the end to deliver some good, "Holy shit!" moments. When you get right down to it, it's really still just a fun teen adventure comic, but it succeeds as being that brilliantly. A

Reading Dragon's Blood really makes me wish that Dixon and Donovan take the reigns from Winick and McDaniel on Green Arrow.

As always, I was satisfied with 52, and I really liked Action Comics, though the scheduling sucks.

Justice was fantastic, and Flash gives me high hopes.

I liked JSA Classified..story wise, as it again features Doc Mid-Nite, though the art wasn't quite to my liking, though it fit the story.

I thought Green Lantern was great, and like the idea of the "Tales of the Sinestro Corps" backup story.

Still need to read BB and Legion.

    I really didn't know where else to put this, but;

I went to the local used book store, and they have comic bins as well, never bothered looking through them until today.

    Picked up in Single Issues:
    Ultimate Fantastic 4 Issues 1-6
    V For Vendetta Issue 1
Doctor Strange The Oath Issues 1 and 2
    Desolation Jones Issue 1

All First Printings, Bagged and all. About $1 or $2 each. (Canadian)

Add to that Spider-Man:Blue And MK Punisher Volume 1, Both Hardcover, Both Still Wrapped and both really cheap.

Total Price? $60 after tax. And thats Canadian.
    Whats that, $50 US?

    I'm happy :D

...why would you want the first issue of V for Vendetta?

I mean, I'm not trying to be rude, but if you're collecting -- well, if you paid a buck or two for it, I can't imagine it's worth much, unless the guys there are just retarded and don't check listings or anything. (In which case, go back and see if they have a copy of Action Comics #1 or something.)

And if you're buying it to read, it'd be much easier and less expensive to get the trade for $20, or the hardcover for $30.
