Does my making a new chat thread really have that much of an effect on your lives? Really? Really?
It's the no warning that I dislike, mostly. And the fact that when it's done by random post number, you get a good variety of starters. I mean, yours have been ok, they just lack the spice of the past [chat]s.
That, and [chat] is kind of meant to be a more relaxed mod-free-ish zone. You guys hogging the [chat] just to avoid Achewood kinda ruins that. Not to mention is kind of silly.
Well, Elki loves Achewood, and has both decreed "all Achewood chat weeks" and made Achewood chat threads, so I rather doubt that that is his motivation. My motivation is that several times when I've tried to get people to make them, it turns into a big pain in the ass. Since the chat threads have to be locked before 100 anyhow, it really doesn't matter what's in the OP, and doing it myself minimizes the amount of time we don't have a chat thread (waiting on someone to make a new one) which is better for everyone, I don't really see a need for the extra trouble.
