Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I think part of the reason there is so much raging about the plot not going where people wanted/thought it would go is that they have yet to realize that GoT is basically history.
It's not a classic tale of good vs. evil or even a morality lesson. It's about what also happens in real life; people with promise and goals often fail to achieve them and their lives blink out far sooner than they ought to. People are often shortsighted about immediate goals vs. long term gains. People are bigoted and crave selfish revenge.
This is what makes GoT interesting and ultimately a character-driven story. You get to see how both significant and insignificant decisions lead to often unexpected resolutions. If you can't get behind that after five years, then you're probably better off not watching anymore.
