It is weird to see 2007 releases for the DS appear so sparse compared to 2007 for the Wii.
Edit: Should I know what Donkey Kong Jet Race is? That's a new one for me.

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.
February 21, 2007 - We gave last year's Elite Beat Agents a 9.5, so you can bet we've been hoping for a sequel. Our hopes were fulfilled today. Japan's Dengeki Online reports that a sequel to the unique rhythm title is being readied for Japanese release later this year.
In Japan, the sequel will be titled Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Tamashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (the original was just Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan). The first part of the title translates to "Burn! Hot Blooded Rhythm Soul!". Now we're really excited!
Aside from the promise of multiplayer support for up to 4 players, details on the sequel have yet to be made public.
Nintendo Japan announced a few other games today, including more "non-games" that Japan is sure to eat up. Check back here at IGN DS and over at IGN Wii for more details to follow.

Panel-De-Pon DS announced. With WI-FI. And voice chat.
February 21, 2007 - All played out on Tetris DS? Dont' fret -- you won't have to wait too long for something new to play. Nintendo Japan has announced Panel de Pon DS for Japanese release on 4/26.
Developed by Intelligent Systems, Panel de Pon DS is a DS installment in the puzzle title that's variously known as Tetris Attack, Pokemon Puzzle League and Pokemon Puzzle Challenge. The rules are different from Tetris, but the point is the same: eliminate tiles and make combos.
The DS version adds a few elements to the mix, including the expected stylus-based controls. Just like Tetris, you'll be able to play against far off players thanks to included Wi-Fi support. With Puzzle de Pon, the multiplayer support is limited to 4 simultaneous players, although the included voice chat should keep things exciting. Nintendo is working some items into the multiplayer mode that promise to keep all players on their toes.
A US version of Puzzle de Pon DS has yet to be announced. If it does come our way, we expect it to carry yet another new name.
Check out Famitsu for first screens.
Goddamn.

Oh lord, my day was just made much better by this news. Maybe my luck will continue this afternoon during my daily "hunt for games to play with my bongos" and I'll actually find one.
What awesome news to start the day with. I never played Ouendan until after I played EBA, and I love them both. Looking forward to this! I hope that they make this Japanese only and then make yet another game that's a sequel to EBA, cause then we'll get two new games, rather than them making one game and then localizing it.

I figured if they were going to do another game of this type they'd make Elite Beat Agents 2
About 70k, pre-Nintendogs and Brain Training.
There are a lot more DSes out there now, enough to warrant giving the series another shot. Plus, there have been tons of games that sell worse than Ouendan, but still get sequels.
And I imagine you'll be happy to make sequels to any flop as long as Nintendo's footing the entire development and publishing side of the coin.

If it gets the Touch Generations tag it's got like 100K no matter what. Honestly I don't see why the game bombed, it was probably related more to the size of the market than the game itself.

EDIT: About the ouendan sequel, I mean. I wonder if this means EBA2?
If so, we'll probably hear about it at GDC...

I can't wait for "DS training of the adult who is poor English it is to obtain more, soaking" - due out in March.
Ouendan 2's translation is great: "Burn! Thermal blood rhythm soul. Pushing patience! Fighting obtaining! Cheer group 2"
I also need to find out more about: "'Wander donkey DS".
I'm a Huge Ouendan fan, I just hope that if it is for the Wii we get a freeloader by the time it is out.
You are part of the problem if you didn't buy EBA. It's even better than the original, more songs, cooler interface, skipable intros.
For fucks sake Nintendo.
dengeki is a solid source. besides, this is all public info from nintendo's retailer conference in japan.
Import.
No.
I mean how they produce so much awesome all the time.
Nintendo is like a fun tax.
Oh yea, well you know eventually you're going to get some chafing after all that pleasure.

So that makes that rumor I heard about possible Ouendan 2 songs make more sense.
I was thinking, they wouldn't announce anything before Keiichi Yano's speech at GDC, but here we are.
I thought Ouendan was a flop in Japan?

Saving the entire galaxy, I imagine.
As a side note, anyone know when EBA is going to be released in Europe? I don't want to import unless I have to.
Oh.
In that case:
