So I don't know if this has been posted yet, but here are a couple of things I heard about BioWare.

1- They are assembling a team to make another KOTOR; but this time, its an MMORPG.

2- Baldur's Gate is coming to the DS.

3- Their new game, Dragon Tales I think it is called, is coming to PS3 from PC.

    1. That would be awful. I don't believe its true either. I think someone just jumped to the conclusion that the new MMORPG is KotOR III because they are working on those two things.

    2. Plausible

    3. Unlikely, Bioware seems to have a strong relationship with microsoft and I doubt they would make an exclusive for another console.

Lots of rumors out there about the property used for the new MMO. Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, or a new IP.

And the PC RPG is called Dragon Age.

BioWare is assembling a team for a KOTOR game. One can assume it will make use of the MMORPG license.

And as for Dragon Age and its relationship with Microsoft, well, we all thought Elder Scrolls would stay with Microsoft, but here it is now, on the PS3.yoy

EDIT: Why would an MMORPG KOTOR suck? If anyone can pull it off, BioWare can.

A KOTOR MMO by Bioware could be good I guess-but its not really what I want from the license.

All I can say is, the next time someone makes a star wars MMO, it has to be fucking done right

Its funny that BioWare has a close relationship with Microsoft when Baldur's Gate has been released on pretty much every console.

And by the way, the original Baldur's Gate could fit. The original came out in 1998; a DS could handle it.

Maybe you need 4 people to play it with.

And each of you have a different cart.

    EDIT: You're forgetting FIVE CDs

I do not think a DS cart can hold as much information as 5 CDs.

    Obviously.

They would have to cut down on some things.

Midi-fy the music, take out cutscenes, reduce the resolution of the graphics, maybe cut some animation frames from some enemies.. It could work.

DS screens are 256 x 192, and with reduced 3d graphics, and etc that follow... Forgive me if I remained optimistic for Bioware RPG on DS.

i'd rather have a new game than have them rape baldur's gate into submission to be honest

i mean it's already on shakey ground in terms of how well the technical aspects of the game have held up

Baldurs gate just wouldn't work on a handheld. (The rpg)

Now when they say Baldurs gate, they are probably talking about one of those Console Crap hack and slash games.

i mean in terms of hack and slash

they don't really hold a candle to the pc games

but they're not really trying to, either

it could work with some modification (i wouldn't describe it as anything like "perfect") but like i said the main issue is the size of the game

resoultion for one, hell the normal game on pc with it's only resoultion (unless you modify it with the baldurs gate 2 engine) Is annoying small.

Now imagine that on the screen resoultion and size of the ds? HA!, so unless they Pull back quite a bit and make everything smaller (will degreade the already poor sprites into non detailed blobs)

    It wouldn't work.

They're just RUMORS, with no source, except from this guy who "heard" them from somewhere he doesn't list. And I doubt they're making a KotOR MMO, especially with three Mass Effect games and Dragon Age under their load already. Bioware is also focusing on new IPs. I believe they can be quoted as saying they're working on original, new games from now on. KotOR is pretty much handed off to Obsidian, and they do want to make the next one, although that's entirely Lucasarts' decision.

I'm not, Galaxies killed any SW MMO for me.

Frankly, like other people have mentioned i'm kind of tired of this mmorpg trend. Everybody and their uncle is trying it.

MMORPG's are only good as long as 1. You're not the max level. 2. There are quests that aren't fetch quests 3. You haven't yet done all the unique quests.

Guild Wars suffered from this for example, once you hit level 20 it got boring and samey very quickly.

Alright, looks like they did open a new studio in Texas devoted to making MMOs, but I still don't think it's a KotOR MMO. It'll probably be something new, as stated above. Maybe I'll be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it'll be an original project.

Edit: You know, I wish the industry wasn't clouded in mystery! Why can't they just tell us what the hell it is so we can skip all the conjecture and speculation! Gar!

Yeah, I don't think it's too likely they're working with Star Wars again. They're definitely into working with their own IPs at this point.

It's an RPG and plays similiar to Knights of the Old Republic. It dose have multiplayer support, which they've said will play and function closely to Neverwinter Nights.
