Chili McSpicyhot stood in wonder in the quartz room (known informally as The Room of Giant Mood Crystals). The quartz had been enchanted long ago to reflect the viewer’s mood through their color, and Chili could not get over how the reddish brown color of the quartz was just so…him. “That color is just so…me
,†he thought to himself. The Caves of Phalla were full of other wonders as well, such as the River of Really Bright Light and Hallucinogenic Fumes and the Talking Stalagmites With a Very Dry Sense of Humor. The Caves used to serve as a tomb for a great kind of long ago (well, technically they still are his tomb), and the many great wonders within the Caves were his doing. One court scribe in his employ recorded him saying, “I will not be buried in any tomb that does not have talking stalagmites and giant mood stones.†However, after the industrial revolution and the increasing commercialization of any and all things within the Kingdom of Phalla, the Caves of Phalla were turned into a family-friendly tourist destination. There were rumors that even before the caves were turned into a tomb another far mores sinister creature had made the caves its resting place, and that there may even be some kind of evil cult that wants to resurrect said creature, but Chili knew that was just crazy-talk.
What happened next was certainly not family-friendly.
An explosion rocked the Caves, knocking Chili and many others to the ground. Screams and shouts were heard from all direction. Chaos ruled.
Suddenly Chili heard noises and shouts coming from one of the tunnels leading into the quartz room. “After the Gnome! After the terrorist!†A three-foot tall figure was sprinting towards the quartz room, and it sounded as if there was a giant mob chasing after him. Chili never got to actually see the mob, however, because the Gnome then proceeded to lob a grenade into the tunnel, which had the effect of collapsing the tunnel on top the mob while simultaneously launching the Gnome directly into the quartz room.
Because things had been happening so quickly and so chaotically, everyone’s first response to the Gnomish terrorist that had launched into the room was to simply stare at the odd-looking fellow. The Gnome, on the other hand, still had his wits about him. He picked himself up off the ground, and, before anyone could react he pulled out a knife and shouted, “THE GNOMES SHALL REIGN SUPREME!†It must not have been Chili’s lucky day, because the Gnome decided to charge directly at him. For being only three feet tall, the Gnome certainly knew how to take down a fully grown human. The Gnome’s ranting and sudden attack finally spurred the rest of the crowd into action, and (luckily enough for the rest of you), Chili was the only one the Gnome was able to take down before he was punted to death.
The rest of the group stood crowded around the two corpses. The Gnome’s body had a disguise-o-tron on it. They couldn’t just wait around for someone to rescue them, not when they knew there could be other Gnomes in their group.
Welcome to The Caves of Phalla.
You are the survivors of the Gnomes’ terrorist attack, and you have taken it upon yourselves to root out and kill any and all Gnomes that may be hiding in your group. Many of the people in your group are of different races, but they have hidden themselves with their disguise-o-trons (an item that makes a non-human look human—they were originally created during the more racially-charged years of the past, but many non-humans still carry them today). Your goal is to wipe out any and all factions that wish to see you dead.
Every night the village may vote one person for death. To vote someone for death, post I !vote Gnasty.
If you want to retract your vote, post I !retract my vote for Gnasty.
will be receiving the generic human PM. Bad guys and specials will receive their role PMs in addition to the human PM.
There are an unknown number of specials present in this game, and they are not all necessarily on your side.
The Bad Guys:
8 Gnomish terrorists. Their goal is to kill everyone who is not a part of their terrorist organization.
2 members of the cult. The cult’s goal is to resurrect the Dragon Skeleton Demon Monster Thing (DSDMT). For the DSDMT to be resurrected, at least one member of every race must be killed. As long as at least one cult member is alive when this goal is achieved, the cult will win the game.
Items are used once per round. Items may be traded, and you may choose whether or not to trade an item anonymously. If someone who possesses an item dies, there is a 33% chance the item will be destroyed and a 66% chance that the item will be randomly distributed to a player who is part of the faction that killed them.
1x The Magical Knife of Sneaky Stabbings – Vigilante
1x The Ancient Shield of “Nice Try, Douchebag†– Defender (Can’t target self, only protects against one attack)
1x The Spyglass of Voyeurism – Seer
3x The Giant Magnet of Taking Other People’s Stuff – Thief
A quick explanation of the thief ability:
If someone is targeted for theft, if that player possesses an item it will be stolen from them. If the target possesses multiple items, a RNG will determine which item is stolen. If the same player is targeted by multiple players for theft, a RNG will determine which thief steals the item.
Quick note for those with thieving abilities: If you tried to steal from someone and they didn't have anything, you won't be receiving a PM. So if you don't hear from me, you didn't get anything.
Order of Effects:
-The shield goes into effect
-All kills occur simultaneously
-All theft abilities occur simultaneously
-Item trades occur
Other Random Notes
-When a player dies, their role will be revealed
-If an item is destroyed, it will be revealed
-The narration will not be completely fluff. However, it will never include any kind of “clue†to player’s identity. If a player’s identity is going to be revealed in the narration, it will be very explicit.
-The thrall role has made a return this game. Be careful who you trust.
-You are allowed to show people your role PM if you want to.
