I've been looking around and I think this is a good place to discuss this. This holiday season looks to be full of some great hits (and even possibly some sleeper hits). So let's discuss which non-big three titles you're actually interested in. I'll post the list of a few games that I've "borrowed" from gamestop. Many of the release dates are probably temporary, so take them with a grain of salt. Also, if the game is released, I will put a gamerankings/metacritic score after it. Just so you have a one-stop look at which games you'll think about picking up.
RED dates mean that there is a 99% chance it's a placeholder date.
BOLD Games mean they were recently added on my last update.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A POLL THREAD. DO NOT JUST POST A GAME TITLE AND SUBMIT. DISCUSS WHY YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE GAME.
Mods: I'm trying to make this a discussion thread, but if you feel that it will turn into a poll thread feel free to lock it.
This listing will be updated with newer release dates when they become available. I will also link each game to an appropriate preview site in the near future (work blocks almost everything).
UPDATE (8/30): Added Guilty Gear to the list. Added links to previews to as many games as I could.
UPDATE (9/12): Changed release date of Guilty Gear, added release dates of the Big 3, also added gamerankings total score for MP3, and a few minor tweaks to things. Also added quite a few games to the list. Many of which will fall down below a score of 50, but I added them anyway.
UPDATE (9/17): Added the metacritic scores of MySims and Mercury Meltdown.
UPDATE (9/26): Added a few more metacritic scores.
UPDATE (10/12): Added teh hueg list, thanks to toxk. Also updated Brawl's release date

UPDATE (10/24): Added a ton of metacritic reviews for some of the Wii games. Also deleted a few of the games that listed as being released in October, but are nowhere to be found.
UPDATE (11/5): Added a few games' metacritic scores. Added Galaxy's score, and removed a few games that aren't out yet, that were supposed to be released. Also moved a few games around to make sure their release dates were correct.

Since when?
Also, Super Paper Mario finally arrives in Europeland in a couple of weeks.
Puzzle League: 073119-160185
The price for Mercury Meltdown is $29.99.
Is there a place for me to look up UK release dates? I'd like to put those on a different list for you.
Yes, I have two questions.
Why haven't I heard of this before?
and
What is the best way to get poop stains out of a pair of jeans?
Yeah I just heard about it by looking on the site as well. If it's anything like the last two Pilotwings, I'm sold.
There's a list here. Website layout prevents me copy/pasting it in.
Puzzle League: 073119-160185
Bah, blocked at work. I'll get to it tonight when I get home. Keep you guys overseas updated as well.
A definite +1 in my wallet then.
Anyone know about Puzzle Quest? Is it going to be priced US$30-40 or $50?
I think I'll wait if it's priced more than US$40.

Right now, I'm assuming we'll end up with Smash Bros & Mario (wait on Metroid till next year)...then...
Guitar Hero 3 - since I sold my PS2 I've missed Guitar Hero - so I look forward to that.
WiiSims - looks amazing
and then maybe Sonic & Mario Olympics
Oh - and if it comes out probably Geometry Wars
It's going to be a very pricey year as far as gaming goes - and I'm not even close to finishing my backlog
You're a god among lazy people, urahonky. Thanks for finding it - guess it's another notch on my wallet then.

I know we say that every holiday but, really, this one has topped all others.
I'm interested in Donky Kong: Barrel Blast, even though I don't know what it is.
Fire Emblem is certainly something I will, at the least, have to rent but I haven't read a single thing about it. I've pretty much been ignoring my Wii so it is nice to see there are some good looking titles, other than the big three, on the horizon.
These are the games from the OP I have interest in. Also Endless Ocean on 10/30. I'm probably not buying anything other than Mario and Smash this year though, because of shit to buy on 360 and DS.
Puzzle League: 073119-160185
I will also pick up the new Trauma Center and Umbrella Chronicles when they release. Raving Rabbids 2 looks good as well, and I never picked up the first one so I won't mind if it is more of the same.
Is 10/1 the same day as Phantom Hourglass???
Yup
i hope there's no more fuckin insects or whatever though
kinda stopped the first one at that point
make my doctor a doper too to ease the stress
remote control morphine relief
This doesn't mean, of course, that I won't pick it up. The original was tremendously fun--simple and engaging. If they just released the same game with motion controls, I'd pay for it.
Shit Arde, I was wrong on the price for Mercury Meltdown, it's only $19.99
Fuck yeah.
Edit: Gamestop? Bleh.
Galaxy I will buy also, but probably not until it hits the $20 mark.
Fire Emblem is also a buy at some point. Possibly at full price, but I just can't bring myself to shell out $50 for a game very often.
Also, when the hell do we get Crystal Chronicles? It's out in Japan already, and I don't want to be waiting 18 months for a damn script translation so I can play it. Or No More Heroes, for that matter. I wa SURE we'd have a date for that by now.
I'm one third of the way there. Not much else on the list appeals to me right now - I'll await rave reviews from folks here before I drop a penny on anything else.
Yeah I know :-/ But it's the only place I can get release dates from at work. I'll try to verify them when I get home.
I want a good, simple, classic Gaming experience and I'm going to go out on a limb and assume Mario will provide that for me.
Like others, I think Zack & Wiki will please both my and my woman. While also tickling my sad obsession with anything resembling Adventure games of yore.
Battlenet: Judgement#1243

well .... I didn't need that $100.00 anyway hehe
I hear ya. I just wont eat for a week, that'll solve that money issue!
I'm going for My Sims and I'm praying it doesn't suck and isn't too simple. I love the little build up your homestead type games and since this is expanded to the whole town it seems pretty neat.
MAYBE NiGHTS but I just don't trust Sega anymore. And what the hell is Ghost Squad?
Fucking for real?
Jeez my gf is going to be disappointed. Damnit, EA.
yeah, that crushed my reasoning to buy it. it looks like a wholly single player experience. more akin to the scenario based game play than the sandbox build your own world gameplay.
Battlenet: Judgement#1243
psn: KupoZero
Woo hoo! Online exclusive content sucks the big one. It's still build your own world; you just don't have to worry about assholes tearing it down.
Ghost Squad is the game based on the Arcade Shooter. A really good game of course.
Smarty Pants (11/13/07) 49.99
It's a trivia game for multiple players, god only knows if it's going to be any good. Since I don't own a calender , please add it to the list so i don't forget.
After looking at the trailer this is not going to help my reputation here.
