WOOTOFF::: WOOT!

HURRAY!

http://www.woot.com

What is this "woot-off" you speak of?

Why, it's a chance to impulse buy a lot of delicious items, typically at drastically-below retail prices. Woot's shipping is also a standard five bones for every order, which is extra-valuable if you're buying more than one of the item.

List of Wootoff Checkers
http://woot.wikia.com/wiki/Woot-Off_Checkers

Rather than spamming 'F5' as fast as you can, these things refresh for you, while also taking some of the bandwidth pressure off of woot.
It's a good idea to use one of these if you're waiting for the next product! Some of these have an alarm in them that will sound a sweet noise to alert you of a new product.

Are they a trustworthy site?
From personal experience (and because http://www.archonwarp.com is registered as a direct link to their page <3 pikapuff), I cannot say anything but praise for their site. They have good customer service, and sweet deals. Also, if you see "Random Crap", for the love of all that is holy, buy it!

Here's a really nice wootoff tracker found by redfenix:

http://www.bagsofcrap.com/wootsound.htm

If there's a long wait on an item that you're not interested in, this will give you an estimated time remaining. Consider shaving off 20% before checking again if you want to be sure.

Cool. Hopefully they'll put up more of the SteelSound headphones they sold during a regular woot a few weeks ago. They screwed up the listing, saying they had a USB sound dongle included when they didn't; so they handed out some coupons to buyers (and offered a replacement USB dongle). And even without the USB connector, they are great headphones, I'd happily buy another set to have a backup. Extremely comfortable.

Question! If I order multiple items from the same woot-off will they combine the orders to save me on shipping, or must I pay an additional $5 for each item I want?

Different items will be different orders, you'd pay $5 shipping for each order.

You can order up to 3 of each same item for a single $5 shipping charge.

I'm pretty sure they combine shipping if you buy multiples of the same item. (Just 5 bucks if you get 2 or 3)

In the time it took to think through the 6 or 7 people I have to buy Christmas gifts for and recall if they have MP3 players yet, a 1GB player for $20 sold out.

Hah. From the Philips MP3 player description: "There’s nothing particularly special about it, as MP3 players go. No special features or anything. And by today’s standards, the 1GB hard drive is puny – which is what I love about it. I filled it up in one final 15-minute frenzy of intellectual property theft and I haven’t looked back since."

That same MP3 player was in the last Woot off, so I'm sure they didn't have many left. And it's quite likely there will be other MP3 players coming up. Maybe the good ol' Sansa M240s, which I bought last time and are quite nice.
