[Vista] PC doesn't turn off

Well, basically I have to resort to manually turning off the computer, it has really come to this..whenever I try to turn it off it will show and perform as it were turning off but will never actually perform, yesterday since I was already late to a class I had to turn it off really fast and get the hell out of the house. When I got home, after almost 4 hours it was still trying to turn off, it even had the screen turned on :|

I really don't understand why so is there anyone that knows of a solution for this? It's really becoming annoying

Lemmings was pro-Communist propeganda. All are created equal, sorted into specific jobs and roles that they will hold for the rest of their lives by a higher authority, and must sacrifice continuously for the good of the group. Success is measured by meeting quotas and nothing else. Also, nuclear holocaust.
