Mario Marathon 3! For the kids!

mariomarathon3_2-1.jpg

Those crazy guys at mariomarathon are playing 9 mario games for childs play over the course of three (or so) days. "I like these dudes" you say, "how can I make them play longer?" You throw money at them! Every donation they get buys more levels they have to endure. See fancy chart to see where they are.

The money they earn goes straight to the charity Child's Play, which in case you don't know takes donations from neat people like you and buys toys for children in hospitals. More heartwarming info here.

One of these days, I really want to do a marathon for charity. I need to learn what I need and how to set that stuff up.

I agree. They've only been paying for about 3 hours and they already racked up about $9,500.

All thanks to murder simulators and their fans. :P

This is really good, their website is REALLY nicely put together, and their feed is really good. Ha, I hope they get all the way to the end ;)

Although, I think the best watching will be the original games, 3d versions are a bit less obvious to an observer in terms of what you are trying to do.

Are they gonna go for all blue coins in Sunshine again? That was probably the most amusing part of the last marathon.

Probably not, since they have more games to play than the first year. I think we have to raise around $120,000 to force them to play that.

it is so weird and wrong to see nsmbwii without dickery/fucking people over

edit: I still want to donate in the name of the PA fora

thinking of a good name to donate in though

Would that be kosher? Would I get in trouble for donating for the fora like that?

No I mean the mods have historically been anti unapproved outside promotion of the forums for obvious reasons (don't want the PA name tainted by someone doing stupid in its name)

They are currently on the final boss of NSMBWii. It's taken them a silly amount of retries for a boss that I found amazingly easy. Not bragging, as I never even got all the coins, but I beat Bowser in just one try. Maybe they are just gettin a bit tired.

Did you do it solo? Everything in that game is easier solo. They are also dying most often by the coin.

They can't hear me through the internet can they? It's gettin intense.

Kinda sucks that Mario World's gonna happen in the middle of the night. Was always my favourite.

Well that is what bubbles are for.

Aren't they doing SMW right after this? Or are they doing all the levels/coins first?

Oh yeah! Im glad i didn't miss the Marathon this year. Last year was absolutely hilarious, and we managed to get the donations for a 100% run of Sunshine. And boy was it worth it! I have never seen so much fail at once :P It was almost painful to watch.

If I want to put together a mass donation from about 5-6 people, can I just have everyone transfer the money through paypal to one of our accounts and then donate?

Exactly! I guess they thought they weren't gonna get that many donations. But they have played it safe this year. We need over $150.000 before they will do Sunshine Blue Coins

I don't think it was the best of ideas to have the blue coins on there.
