I thought amway was just a thing where you sold actual goods though? Nothing dodgy? I don't know I've never bought one.
They're not dodgy as long as the people running the thing aren't dodgy. Sometimes they've come under fire for using very aggressive / pressuring tactics to sign people up, and their group gatherings and seminars have often been described as cult-like. The way the speakers make the audience chant things and yell to get everyone all hyped up like it's some sort of miracle-healer sermon.
Other than that, if you can cope with the brainwashing and work hard, you can be pretty successful.
I probably can figure somethin' out for transportin' myself from Brissie but in the event that anyone does have a spare seat in an automobile I could sit in it. Don't consider me if anyone else needs it though.
it's Kevin Smith describing his friend renting a Prom Bus for a trip up north
this is a large party bus with lights, shot glasses, stripper poles and horrible pop music. It is Schoolies On Wheels. And the two drivers have been hired to chauffeur these two, large, hairy gentlemen as they sleep in what Smith describes as "a gay harem" of a back room in the bus.
It sure is handy to have a car if you want to do anything other than hang out in Byron itself though, there's not really any public transport between towns down there
well I kinda want to be able to bus in from the airport to byron bay and be able to communicate with someone that they need to get me and take me to the cabin without it costing me a thousand dollars when I get home
is byron bay small, can I just be like 'HEY YO' and it'll all turn out?
Most places in australia are small
its the distances which are fucking huge
So its like
do I really wanna drive six hours to get to a place that's basically a bus stop
Anyway sms shouldnt be too much and you can step into a shop and get a sim card for a few dollars as blake mentioned
And I imagine the bus will let you out near the shop in town assuming there's any and that they are useful and not all fucking highly specific crap like a pyjama shop and five goddamn shitty antique or otherwise crap toy stores like the last small town I was in
which only had like ten shops and none of them useful other than the tiny supermarket full of old people making bad jokes
I feel bad about not really liking kevin smith whenever I visit this thread and you some of you are talking about him! I always prefer liking things over not liking things
I liked dogma though and jersey girl was okay. The smodcast was okay as well but I stopped listening at around Harry Scotter and the Order of the Penis because I felt there were too many boring episodes in a row
mallrats, zack and miri make a porno, chasing amy and I think it was jay and silent bob strikes back are the ones I watched of his and straight up didn't like
Yes this is what I was hoping for. Maybe us Sydney folks should try to agree on and book a single or similar flight and meet up either at Sydney or Coolangatta airport?

Argh.
agreed
having just done a flight from Brisbane to Sydney this morning, it is a peace of cake. Hardly even a flight at all.
Driving will cost very similar and take ten times as long and be 20 times the effort
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
Now just need to organise how I'll get from there to Byron..
Prom
Bus
God I remember nearly busting a lung when he told that story here in Sydney
what's the video

EDIT: And now I know.
Man, I gotta start a list of all the movies I need to see, I can never remember them when I need to.

That film made me feel uncomfortable working in my dad'a cafe. In a good way. Dutch rudder good way.
I know, this is what I usually do. And now judging by the responses, it seems the best option.
I was just worried about flying up and then having no-one to rent a car with or anything like that.

the last weekend gets checked off with some booking and a great sigh
I am the opposite.
Tomorrow all my assignments will be done, then a few weeks before some easy exams, then I'm freeee!
Well not fully free since I will be working, but freer that I am at the moment.
Agreed.
I've been so broke for months
