are there any verdicts on Sam and Max Season 3 yet
It's good, but god damn buggy. I don't know if this is anyone else's experience, but I keep getting weird interface glitches (especially when using Max's powers), and a lot of interactions mistakingly read as the generic "use [object]" even when you're just looking at the thing. I get the impression that while they did take all the time they needed to write a great story and make it funny as hell, the programming side of things got kinda rushed and it's a shame.
god I like monkey island 2 but I had to go to an faq soooo many times during that game.
Welcome to the world of adventure games. I wonder how many people can honestly say they have finished a adventure game without checking a walkthrough once.
I'm almost upset. I expected some sort of cool, pseudo Smash Bros. variant for the PC.
Instead, Poker. Why even make a teaser for that? Poker is really only fun with human interaction, and is almost more of a social event than a game. I don't care if I get to play as the Heavy when I'm being dealt cards.

in a point and click adventure, anyway. i only use that rationale given the limited gameplay of those games and the focus on using your noodle
the only time i could of a situation where i used a strat guide was to find out how to do that taipai tower puzzle in KOTOR 2 for all that stuff in that box
if Phoenix Wright 2 is gonna arbitrarily make someone say something different if I talk to them twice in a row about the same thing without giving any indication that that will happen, with it never happening before or ever again, then eff them I'm using a guide for that.
Reminds me of Space Quest 5, where you have to move to a certain spot on a floor on a certain screen otherwise you won't catch a certain thing that is certain to blow your spaceship up after a certain time.
The rest of that game is quite doable without a guide though. Maybe some lame spots where it's not clear where you can/have to go, but not as brutal as other Quests.
I had to use a guide for the one act of the new Sam and Max stuff I played, because I forgot to click on something and thus did not know you could pick it up. I feel dumb about that.
See it bugs me because I clicked everything else in that area eight or nine times. Or tried to talk to it, or shoot it, or punch it ("But there are so many better things to punch!").
Stack of fliers that clearly is clickable when I mouse over it? No, that can't be important, no point.

can you preorder it through steam instead?
which I just did
because why the hell not, it's less than five bucks and the heavy's in it

I think I beat Phoenix Wright 4 without one.
Man that game was such a letdown.

Using one the whole time sure
but even the good ones have at least one spot where it doesn't make any fucking sense
and if you're gonna brute force it by trying every single possible solution anyway, why not just cut out the work and look up the answer.

Fuck that.
this is how Kings Quest 6 has taught me.
Okay, let me stuff it down my pants.
