HOW ABOUT THIS WEATHER?

So my state is currently underwater. This ain't one of your vagina American states you can drive across in 40 minutes, no, Queensland is three times the size of Texas.

THE%20CAGE%20INGHAM%20FLOODS-20-600x400.jpg

last year was a break to a 15 year drought, and this year the water's come back with a vengeance.

In Queensland, when it rains it pours... for 3 straight months.

About a month ago, the sky outside my work looked like this

13346717568914464211363.jpg

then chunks of ice the size of a fist fell from the sky and did terrible things to my new car. Caused about $10,000 worth of damage (for which I'm thankfully insured).

But the kicker is that all these months of solid rain was just leading up to yesterday and today.

rainxo.jpg

That rainfall radar has looked the same for about 48 hours. That image represents about 300 miles of coast. Yesterday, the inland city of Toowoomba was flash flooded when the drinking water dam burst its banks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYUpkPTcqPY

8 people so far are confirmed dead and another 50 or so missing after being swept away.

Today the flood is finally hitting Brisbane, Queensland's capital and my home, which is hilariously enough built around a river. People in the downtown business district have all been evacuated, along with a bunch of suburbs around the river, tons of workplaces are sending people home and the state emergency service has given out hundreds of thousands of sandbags in the last five hours.

Luckily, my house is halfway up a mountain so we'll be cool, but close friends are packing up their valuables and leaving their houses with crossed fingers.

So I guess what kind of crazy weather have you lived though? Ever been near a tornado? a monsoon? rain of frogs?

You fail to realize that this is just the method the great white sharks are using to invade. Brushfires are the least of their worries.

I got absolutely soaked in QLD a couple of years back, after the rugby league world cup final.

I mean, I don't actually remember it apart from a couple of flashes, as I was verr verr drunnnk, but the amount of water on the floor of my room the next morning (and in my clothes) would suggest it belted it down and I got caught in it.
