Quick question, how would I tell someone what lens I'm interested in? Like, if I'm in a store and want to see the Canon "50mm f/1.4" lens, how would I say that and not sound stupid?
Went to my cousin's show last night, got a couple decent shots.
I love this.
It's pretty neat, but I can't figure out why he's abusing his hi-hat.
lol!
Thanks for the compliment. The drummer really got into it, he held up the hi-hat and hit it with the other hand. They're a really energetic band. I don't like their music, but they have a ton of energy, and the guys can play. They're called Once Nothing, and if you like metal, you might like them.
I'm new to this photography stuff, so bear with me. Right now i'm a level-green beginner in both taking pictures and editing them. Only picture I have is one of me that I enchanced:
So I printed these on some really old paper my dad gave me, that he actually used in his darkroom in the 80's.
I found out afterward that its actually graded paper, back before multigrade paper and filters. So they're super contrast-y, but I don't think I mind.
Lemme know what you guys think

I really liked your older stuff, burk. Like from a month or two ago but these latest ones aren't doing much for me. They have a sort of nostalgic feel because of the vignetting and blurriness but they just aren't that interesting. They just look like glorified snapshots to be honest. If that's what you're going for then it's fine.

Yeah, they really are glorified snapshots. I'm shooting some color stuff now, and have been for about a month, so I have been forced to go back and try and squeeze more prints out of my older negatives. Hopefully within a few weeks I should have some interesting color shots from a collaboration I'm working on with a friend. We'll see.
Thx for the honesty though. I could always use more criticism
Hah! I don't have a macro lens! (but I really, really, really want one...) Those are actually not-so-mini-blinds. They're the vertical kind that have around 2.5" slats.

...and Jamp, that looks almost exactly like a scene from a dream that I had! Odd!
makings of mojitos
And it's true. Without this forum, I probably would've never started drawing or started on this photography thing.

I love this.

Is there a reason for the borders being that large?

I don't really see it as a border but a background. Gotta try new things right?
Cuz he's hardcore.

The strangeness of that one intrigues me.
Yeah, that one is my favorite.
These look so different on my monitor now, bah... I edited these on my school's macs. First time I've done that.
I really really like all of them. Especially the 2nd to last.
Great colors and compositions.
I really need to fucking shave.
