So, I got a guy friend hooked on MLP. I told him to watch the first 3 episodes and then he could quit if he didn't like it. This is paraphrased conversation:
Him: I have a feeling I will be sacrifice most of my masculinity for this.
Me: You wanna get laid? Girls our age watch this. It'll give you something mushy to talk about.
Him: Welllll... alright, I guess.
Me: Watch episodes 1-3. 1 and 2 are kinda 'meh' but they're important for character introduction. Episode 3 is when it really starts to pick up 'cause it's not a pilot anymore.
(~30 minutes later)
Him: Okay, this is pretty meh. I dunno how I feel about this.
Me: Keep watching.
Him: Fiiiine.
(~15 minutes later)
Him: ... I like Fluttershy.
Me: Anypony who doesn't is a heathen.
(~45 minutes later)
Him: Okay, I'll admit it, this show is pretty good, but it's late and I think I've watched enough for tonight.
Me: Welcome to the herd.
Now, if I could just get my girl friends to watch this show I'm all set.

I don't read the SA forums, so maybe you are infamous over there and your response is more logical, but I don't see the problem with what they said and I think you're interpreting the posts much more venomously than they were intended. I say stupid things all the time over there and they've never been anything but friendly to me.
