If Boston beats Tampa (Boston & Canuck final plz), and Quebec manages to get the funding together for their new arena, and buy the Coyotes, combined with the Thrashers move, this will be the best Hockey year I can ever remember.
You know, both Kesler and Thorton are unbelievable warriors.
Makes it so frustrating when they flop around!

i still can't get over that last goal, what a good eye Bieska had on the puck. I sorta feel bad for Niemi because if he has realized what was going on it would have been an easy stop for him but yay canucks
I have never seen a team so unlucky as the Sharks this postseason
That... is pretty funny.

So, I didn't read the article when I saw it and now I'm not sure where to find it, but on nhl.com a headline said that if Winnipeg gets a team, expect the Canadian teams to lobby for a Canadian division.
Really, NHL? A division spanning 4 time zones and several thousand kilometers? Why on earth would any team want to do that kind of travel?
I feel bad for Niemi also. The goal kinda reminded me of that OT series-ending goal in game 5 against Anaheim in 2007, where Luongo was looking at the ref for a call and completely missed the puck float into the night.

Wings are probably done in 4 if Bertuzzi's goal is correctly called offside, would have changed the whole Canucks series. Now we have a bad icing call the ends up costing the Sharks the elimination game.
And don't even get me started on the GWG bounce

The CBC's article on same pointed out something interesting - Detroit really really wants to be in the East, but the NHL does not want to lose the divisional rivalry with the Blackhawks.

Also, they know Eastern teams suck and Detroit would end up being the Eastern Conference Champions in perpetuity.

Yeah, poor Niemi, he only had a six series win streak going.
Regarding the sharks defense, they suffer from a few problem...
- all the guys who can move the puck up the ice are all on one side. Vancouver focused their forecheck on this side, making it tough for them to do their job.
- Puck moving D depth. Boyle plays a lot more then he needs to because there's no one else who can do the job. Chicago had Campell, Keith, Seabrook. Vancouver has Ehrhoff, Edler, and Salo. Bieksa and Hamhuis also proved this series they can chip into offense when they need to.
- Their really is no true shutdown pairing either. There's Boyle, but the guy is doing way too much on his own. He's the offense and the defense from the back end.
God, I hope the Canucks win the cup because trying to keep both Bieksa and Erhoff will be tough next year.
Which doesn't list Weber, so I'm guessing he is restricted?
He is restricted, so I highly doubt he is going anywhere other than Nashville. And they better keep him if they want to keep any of those new hockey fans they got this year.
You're going to have to pay Weber the max and you'd lose like 4 first round picks because he's restricted. If Nashville doesn't match it, which they will.
Bieksa is your best available UFA defenseman.

Granted, not for division games, but for Detroit and Columbus that's the status quo.

Gratz to the Nucks. I'll be rooting for you guys.
You guys have to find a better dude to sing the Star Spangled Banner for the finals though.

It's pretty unclear whether his no movement clause is still valid in San Jose
Weber is an RFA. I seriously doubt Nashville lets him walk
