    I just went to a free flogging molly show last night, it was pretty fucking rocking

    also, saying that our generation can't make music more "rocking" (in the sense that rock was used as a tool of rebellion) is a pretty damn hilarious postulate at the height of OF-mania. It either belies a total ignorance of the music scene these days or one of those painfully backwards views like, "That isn't rock! What we had in MY days was rock! This is just...noise!!!"

    I'm a young dude and I get what Geek was saying.
    Rock-itude in the general music scene seems to be down.
    It's not a bad thing exactly. Stars of this generation tend to be focusing on other stuff.
    We're seeing a pretty excellent emergence in soul music.

    Jack Daniels is a perfectly legitimate drink for those who don't have the money or the time to become connoisseurs of whiskey because that shit will run you a big damn tab if you're not careful

    Also AC/DC was way better when Bon Scott was singing

    maybe its a generational thing but i cannot take any music from the eighties seriously, at all, except for thriller and anything prince did.

    I'll admit that there isn't a lot of variety in AC/DC music, but they still rock.

    And Journey is way better.

    But if I absolutely had to pick a best band ever, it would have to be Queen.

    I can't quite say the 80's were bad for music because that's when R.E.M. was making most of their best stuff, but apart from that there is very, very little there I enjoy.

    Everyone just remembers the big arena rock numbers but Queen had a lot of way more varied stuff

    I think in the time period in which they operated Queen cranked out more really solid songs of one sort or another than almost any other band I can think of
