What is Beauty? What is Beautiful?

If I were an intergalactic traveler, new to this planet and language, how could you explain beauty to me other than by showing a list of examples? I would probably have many questions, like how can so many different things all be beautiful? A person, a car, a poem, a spiderweb, a sunset, a Font?!, CHILDBIRTH!?!?.

Is a person more beautiful than a car?
(sometimes yes, sometimes no)

Is a car more beautiful than a person?
(sometimes yes, sometimes no)

In this thread, I'd like to explore the realm of "What is Beautiful?", but with a twist. I'd like to see what things are considered MORE beautiful than other things, and what things are considered LESS beautiful.

So here's the deal
1) On odd numbered pages, post something that you think is MORE beautiful than the post before you
2) On even numbered pages, post something that you think is LESS beautiful than the post before you.


I'll start.

This was an early morning summer sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mountains. I took its picture because I thought it was beautiful.
