I hear what you are saying, but you do realize he's a heel, and that the last match was pretty good despite the finish, right? Heels don't exactly win clean, it is kind of part of being a heel.

    I know.

He's done the same shit on Impact too. All the time.

You would think that at least on a PPV, he could actually take it to a legit finish. Like holding tights I could understand and be OK with, or a low blow. But this is the second PPV in a row where he has successfully defended the belt on a BS finish. Why would people pay for that?

    well uh

    most people aren't

That was only the last PPV that got 7000 buys

If the same happens with this one, then I'll be convinced that people have seen the light

If we ever get to the point where a company like ROH or CHIKARA gets more ippv buys than TNA gets regular ppv buys, I'm not sure if I will laugh or cry.

I'm pretty sure I'd be happy about that happening. TNA was cool back when Cornette was in it but it has been years since it's gained any notoriety for anything other than ruining people's careers and nonsensical "swerves".

Don't cry for TNA. It's already dead.

Didn't watch but reading the results the Monster's ball match sounded pretty good. Abyss being TNA's goto Hardcore guy and one of ECW's best going at it? Sounds like it was an excellent match.

As for the Main Event. I see them building it up for Hardy one more time with a Sting twist to ensure Roode can't cheat his way out. Isn't Lockdown coming up?55

  • Options
    NiryaNirya Registered User regular
I would have said that TNA was slowly building towards Roode/Storm at Lockdown, but I honestly don't see how they would do that at this point beyond horribly rushing it.

Which is basically what is going to happen.

    You're wrong Nirya.

They're going to put the title on Hardy at the next TV taping.

But the belt will be covered in the dust of crushed up Somas or what ever it was Hardy was doing and violate his parole thus defaulting the belt back to Roode.5

If hardly anybody buys TNA PPVs, why give them clean finishes when they can get more eyeballs on Impact on TV

It's just the opposite of what WWE does

I'm not sure much of anything can help DiBiase now. I mean the guy has lifted Kenta's flying knee kick and still can't get the crowd to care about his matches, and if flying knees to the face can't get you over then literally nothing will.
Hell even Trent Baretta got people to pop for that knee.

Drew on the other hand does have form for playing face, granted it's on a much smaller stage but he's not awful at it. Personally I think he's a much better heel though, and I certainly think his current WWE style favours it more.

The WWE forces Brodus Clay to wait and randomly puts a ton of pressure on Drew McIntyre. They are destined to feud.

-- The IMPACT WRESTLING World Tour events scheduled for Essen, Leipzig and Neu-Ulm, Germany, later this month have been cancelled, TNA Wrestling announced Monday.

Shooter Promotions, the event organizers, stated on Facebook, "Due to the unexpectedly poor clearance sales, the planned three TNA Wrestling shows are canceled. The already purchased tickets can be returned to the respective box offices."

This is the second international tour cancellation in recent months as an entire South American tour was nixed in November due to poor ticket sales.

Once again proving my theory that Germans HATE Hulk Hogan.

Judging by Jinder and Khali, I'd think the WWE would be better off just giving them India. Vince and company can't seemingly find much there to work with...

Chuck Taylor is never not entertaining.

Also, Bull Nakano's retirement show apparently drew a $600,000 house.

...oh and she put all the weight from her wrestling days back on just because.

So on the one hand TNA is falling apart to the point where some are thinking they're actively trying to fail, and ROH and CHIKARA are growing but haven't broken through yet...

...but Bull Nakano, who was big in the 80s and spent the last decade as a failed professional golfer, revived an entire dead market with a single show.

Although I'd rather see Bryan/Bourne, this is good enough I guess.

Also what market did Bull Nakano revive? Japanese women's wrestling?

No, she's still very much retired. However she never had an official retirement show of any kind*, she just walked away one day and didn't come back, because she's fucking Bull Nakano and can do whatever the hell she wants.
In that same spirit, she decided she wanted her retirement show this month. So she had it.

Japanese wrestling in general is fucked right now. New Japan draws mooooost of the time, everybody else is kind of just getting by--apart from NOAH who are slowly crumbling.
For the Nakano show to pull that kind of gate, especially when you consider the state of Joshi since around about '98 (and that is me being very generous.), is frankly staggering. However it's also entirely justified because she's fucking Bull Nakano, one of the best monster heels of all time.

*As far as I am aware, my knowledge may be woefully lacking though.

Is Cole being very worldly something new or have I just not noticed it before? He's a scholar on low-rider bikes and Indian headwear now.
