Skyward Sword is a great game, seriously hampered by the fact that Nintendo made it.
It's practically screaming for better hardware and voice acting. The single stick controls work ok but feel like a step back in time, especially since the game has that really weird Japanese aversion to responsive cameras. There are also puzzling regressions. For example, previous Zelda games neatly solved the jump animation problem (needing to start the animation before the button press to make it look both real and responsive) by inventing autojump. Skyward Sword uses autojump but starts the animation too late and it looks janky.
Another problem is that the controls try to use just one button 99% of the time, but with the new parkour style movement and all the other interactions with the world, you're often left sitting around, fiddling, trying to get the context to switch to the command you want. It's like the old move/climb dilemma in Ocarina of Time, but worse!

It's also a much more cinema heavy experience, and often it'll do the trademark ITEM GET musical sting with Link striking a pose in the middle of a serious conversation! Skyward Sword is a huge modernization of the franchise, with tons of old things that don't make sense other than as Zelda legacy getting the boot. The transition is really jarring and I wish they'd left that out too.
