If the only way to kill/score is via building and using the super, then the game is shit.
If it doesn't have a stock mode, then I probably won't even bother!

a) I don't like Robert against most of the other anchors he'll likely to come up against, Shen especially
b) You're completely fucked if you're ever at character disadvantage. They're on their 2nd char, and you're down to Robert. You can blow every last bit of your resources to kill (maybe) and then what? You have meterless Robert against Shen, Kyo, EX Takuma, w/e with at least a couple meters gained from your hd combo. Not a good place.
Basically my entire philosophy for choosing anchor is
1 - Can they handle Shen Woo
2 - Can they efficiently use an abundance of meter
Robert doesn't depend on meter, and I don't feel he gains much by having access to it. I feel he's best up front where he can not only generate meter he doesn't need but the opponent also doesn't have access to meter/will be reluctant to spend what they gain.

i'm catching up on the Civil War stream. Man, you can just hear how irritated Spooky is at everything. Snide ass comments directed at MLG, MadCatz, the Cannons, Evo, traveling, venue internet everywhere, Krone, Jebailey, goddamn near everything.
You guys are probably right about robert as anchor. Maybe I'll stick him second. Shen is dumb.
All that talk about anchors makes me want to go back and learn more damaging Kyo combos. My best with him is around 750 for 4-bars. I can do dp.A xx qcf.D just fine, but I can't get dp.C xx rdp.b
Multiple reps of it kill me. I can do 2 no problem, always fuck up the 3rd.

My Kyo one is pretty simple.
j.d+C, C, df.+D, HD Bypass, C, df+D(1-hit), qcf+D, rdp+lk xx Orochinagi, qcf+HP, Orochinagi(Normal or EX) xx Neo Max. It's 4-5 bars for 840-ish.
You can actually do more in the combo if you're confident enough.

What time are the UMvC3 brackets/finals supposed to be?

That's alright if you have meter, but if you've only got 1 or 2 bars you really need dp+C [HDC] rdp+B reps. Tune your combo right and you can put out just under 700 for 1 meter, and generate damn near 2 in the process

Phoenix has the lowest life in the game at 375k. Chipping her out is a pretty viable strategy sometimes, but not via random super.

Pretty much this. My Iori HD combos for even just 3 -4 bars are 800-980. Athena can get 820 with 4 and EX Kyo/Kyo is like 890 with 4.

There was a game that copied the smash rule-set, but had set HP limits instead of %s and stage knockoffs. It didn't work nearly as well.
Can you imagine Brawl where the only way to kill someone was through final smashes, and people always flew the exact same distance when you hit them?
