Tom Jane wrote:“I wanted to make a fan film for a character I’ve always loved and believed in – a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It’s been a blast to be a part of from start to finish — we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”

That's pretty sweet.

(No it really shouldn't)
o hi
Also sent stuff to my boss. Need to work on some questions for the M&E stuff cause I guess we need a rough draft on Friday.
Well this internship is really do shit in this general direction. Which isn't bad but man I feel like a flailing while I catch up and be as good at this as I guess I should be.
this is actually really common in movies and films......?

have fun not being productive for the next few hours
I love this even more with the guy reading it out.
but the news reporting is so fucking good. i feel patronized to by maybe 65% of every episode but the idealistic news reporting is probably going to have me watching every single episode.
does that mean democrats are unconstitutional???
olol
Not that common in video games, though.
Specifically it was the idea that the entire reality that the game had been constructed on up until that point turned out to be a lie, because The Gandalf turned out to have been lying the whole time.

That was a pretty badass "fan film".
Can it be a fan film if it stars the actual actor from the movie?
Sorkin was on Fresh Air today. Listening to him in person gives you a lot of perspective on how he writes and such. The guy admits he sucks at writing stories/plots. He also admits he writes for dialogue parts which is the reason you watch his shows. I need to catch up on Newsroom I am two behind. I might do that tonight after dinner.
A man chooses, a slave obeys.
I feel pretty much the same but I haven't seen 3 and 4 yet. I'm hoping they help me decide one way or the other.
I'll probably be watching either way because I started watching it with my aunt.
:^:
"But... but the Federalist Papers said democracy is evil and I don't feel doing critical thinking on what they actually meant!"
So, I think it counts.
Honestly, I see it more as a viral marketing/movie pitch ala that Mortal Kombat "fan film"
I will go create a list of games that fit that archetype.
True.
I liked the Tom Jane punisher and would love to see a sequel in the vein of this short.
I'm not saying there aren't exceptions, but generally speaking when you create a game in which you can do everything right and still "lose" (or at least fail to achieve triumphant victory), gamers have a tendency to lose their shit and hate you.
technically it is, yeah, since it's not like he owns or has licensed the IP, but in practice it's way more polished than most fans will ever be able to afford
I really like the idea of actors taking their dream projects out to the people and using these sort of short films as video resumes and I hope Jane finds luck in that regard. That character deserves a good low-budget, boundary-pushing, hard-R movie.
i used bacon and garlic instead
