its basically me being sacrificed by a cruel band of haters on account of their loathing of my rapidly rolling swagmobile
so my aunt's laptop has a totally busted dvd drive. not only does it not read discs, but it's physically fucked- the end of the tray is super fucked and broken apart.
me: well, your drive doesn't work.

me: well, the end here is all smashed up. it has to have been dropped or hit by something pretty hard.

this conversation almost made my head explode. we're both sitting there looking at a broken, mangled chunk of plastic and metal and she's denying that anything bumped into it or it fell or something. the back and forth was so surreal that by the end of it i'd almost dug through to the other side and i started considering that maybe i was the stupid one.

As an absolute rock bottom starting point, take the time that it'll take to complete a job and multiply that by minimum wage. Move up from there based on how much you feel your skills are worth vs a McDonalds cheeseburger.
