I'm waiting on the XB1/PC version to pick this back up as well. AFAIK you'll only be able to transfer your multi-player characters/progress, not single-player.
I don't mind though, since It'll give me the excuse to go through some of the heists differently second time around, with all the DLC weapons/vehicles.
Welp I wasn't able to get the bug with my race fixed, but in the process I learned that I can still upload races (so it's something specific to that file, it seems), so I remade it and uploaded that instead. I now invite anyone on the 360 to try out Motorcycle Of Abuse.
Lotta rumor things popping up about people finding evidence of some kind of Undead Nightmare style DLC in GTAV's source code. I hope that's true! I would double dip on the PS4 version so hard.

Has anyone tried the new aircraft? I haven't been able to play it yet. This update seems Not That Exciting to me. I was hoping for a VTOL or something similar to the Hydra in feel.

The new heli (the Swift) has deployable landing gear, which is fairly neat. New jet has slightly better acceleration but lower top speed than the military jetfighter.
And then there's the sixteen seater passenger jet which is great for group parachute jumps. But yeah, no VTOL aircraft yet.
You know, I wouldn't mind replaying GTAV when it comes to next-gen.
In fact, I'd love to play lots and lots of GTA Online. GTA-style racing is one of my favorite things to do in online gaming. The thing is, GTA Online is setup so stupidly, if I want to race the way I like it (no catch-up, with all manner of tuned cars, lengthy point-to-point races, no weapons - and generally being on *free aim* settings ontop of that), the downtimes are gosh darn ridiculous, borderline impossible.
So I don't play GTA Online, and unless Rockstar finally comes around to offering an environment where I'm not forced to socialize outside of the game to find like-minded people to play with, to have any chance at a decent flow when playing online, I won't ever play it again.
I am sure you can find a crew on the Social Club that does races you like. Of course it can be tedious to play with randoms.
Personally I don't see a reason to buy the game again. I beat the story mode to death, and GTA online was super boring a month in. Of course now they finally are adding Heists... a year later. The little content packs did nothing for me. I appreciate the updates but to me it was pretty crappy they advertised the game as one thing, and sold me something else.
For me playing with a keyboard and mouse is going to completely revitalise the game. As it stands on the PS3, the two aiming modes basically boil down to:
1. Who can click left then right shoulder buttons whilst slowly aiming up the best. Aka least fun FPS mode ever.
2. How the fuck do you aim with this crappy controller thing, oh god I'm dead again. Aka I'm terrible at consoles why do I even bother.
Actually being able to have fun firefights in a game that's at least a decent proportion about said firefights is going to be huge. There's so many reasons the current system is bad.
Also being run on a system that isn't a decade old is going to make this game so pretty.
I'm all goddamn over the PC version; like sexy and oiled up all over.
Watching the latest Achievement Hunter GTA video made me really want to grind out some cash and get that jet. Looks like all kinds of fun.

Loaded this up (PS3) again for the first time in, uh, months.
Online is still fun I am happy to see.
I'll probably jump ship to the PC version when that drops, cause mouse aim yo.
edit- Though I see my bugged/customizable Police SUV has been taken away.

The last rumor I heard for the next gen versions is Nov 14th, which I guess would be Nov 11th for US. Still no confirmation, though, other than it's on schedule.
Oh, protip if you're looking to make some cash, the flying school they added to Online is super good. Firstly the challenges are actually pretty fun, and you get paid for doing them (although the returns diminish/you get a nominal amount if you keep getting Bronze, for example). I think I've earned about 200k from trying to gold them, which is nice.

I saw 30 minutes of gameplay of this game yesterday.
Guys the changes are astounding. Really incredible stuff. Rockstar said their goal was to push PS4 / X1 like how they pushed PS3 and 360. The environment changes they've done are incredible.
This remaster is the real deal. New trailer should be going out soon.
Thank god I have enough money to buy a PS4! I have a decent PC but who knows how well optimized it will be. In any event I'll be able to get the version of the game I'll get the most out of!
Will the PS4/X1 versions include anything new, or coincide with the release of something new? I know there's been a ton of free multiplayer DLC, but what I'm hoping for is either new singleplayer content or the multiplayer heists (which I think we're still quite a bit away from?)

As far as new content, they've added some new Wildlife that I know of (there's probably more), like Hammerhead sharks, and cute little cats. Improved interactions between wildlife. Fur shaders.
A online (maybe offline too?) Casino has been rumoured as far back as Nov. 2013, new VO for it was found in one of the updates/patch files.
New music/radio stations.
Most people are saying that if online heists don't launch with the new version, then R* will have to have hit some kind of major scripting problem that could delay its implementation indefinitely.

I'll just wait for PC. This kind of game and nividia shadowplay were born for each other.
I wouldn't have grabbed this little bit of sleeping dogs without shadowplay. I wasn't deliberately recording at the time and just hit "save the last twenty minutes" after I had done it.

Apparently the new content will also be coming to Ps3 / 360 "soon", although Rockstar have been very loose with that word in the past...
