Generally speaking your two options in this situation would be to take the tag, but keep your credits in case you need them soon and the tag doesn't bother you, or you spend the 2 credits and save a click (since getting rid of a tag is usually one click and 2 credits)
For future reference, folks, Howler doesn't force the runner to encounter the next ice. They can jack out if they want to, but that obviously ends the run.
When I rezzed it I was hoping adman would just click through it, which he did, instead of jacking out. Unfortunately that ended the game anyway. I definitely didn't use that correctly. I think it would be better suited behind another piece of ice to try and force the Corp to spend more money. It's probably just not a very good card though.
So I can either pay two to beat it, or take a tag?
Edit: Thats still something I should figure out, but I'll take the tag for now and access.
Yep, you're either paying 2 to beat it or 2 and a click to lose it later. Unless he needs to tag you then he's just trying to invest less money into it than you.

So I posted in here once long ago and dissapeared, but not before learning in OCTGN with a few of you. I'm back to playing and wondered if anyone would want to play in a group that starts with just the core set, and slowly expands from there. For someone like me who is really only starting again, dealing with all the cards ever is a super pain. (also if OCTGN became a no-no let me know and i'll take this post down)

Also just to contribute, thanks to the peeps in here that run these games. Between these and some forum members helping me on octgn, that was basically the way I learned to play. Its pretty nice to see turns blown up into parts like this.
