À bit disappointed by the sale this week. Wrote down a list of games I would but if they were going on sale, specifically for my new vita and for a 3rd week, nothing.

Do we know if some of the games on sales are cross buy? Might be yempt d by a few of them if they are cross buy between.pa4 and vita.

I'm not sure where this came from, maybe leftover from PS+ somehow, but I just got all three versions of Hotline Miami free from the holiday sale pages.

For reference, DmC sold 1.6 million and was also considered a failure

DmC was considered a failure because it's the worst selling game in the series. If you think you're getting a DmC2 after that, you're fooling yourself (plus, Ninja Theory have already said they're not working on a sequel and they're too busy with other stuff).

And the last I recall, Capcom considered Dragon's Dogma a moderate success. They recently registered the trademark "Dragon's Dogma Online" in Europe, so they obviously still have plans for the franchise but that name could be for anything, from a F2P mobile game to a co-op expansion of the original.

Plus, if Dragon's Dogma were really considered a failure, why would you think Ninja Theory were going to work on DmC2? The entire reason why Capcom got Ninja Theory to work on the series in the first place, was because the DMC2-4 team were busy working on Dragon's Dogma. No more Dragon's Dogma means no more need to outsource DMC.

The fact that Capcom are going back to DMC4 7-8 years later and adding new content makes me pretty confident we're getting DMC5. If they weren't and it was merely a cash grab, I doubt we'd see anything but a bare bones port.

Super unimpressed with this week's sale

A few good games, almost all of which have been a PS+ freebie at some point or another

Speaking of which, it might be a good idea to consult a list or something regarding PS+ games that are cross buy.

For instance, I didn't know about Thomas Was Alone being free on PS4 until someone on GAF brought it up. Same with flOw, which I discovered on my own.

It should also be mentioned that AC: Freedom Cry completely stomps Unity and was only $6 last week.

I love how the majority of missions and side-missions essentially involve killing slavers. You can kill as many slavers as you want and never feel bad. Because they're fucking slavers.

They're putting it out with a ton of new shit added in

If the game were really such a failure and they wanted to gear people up for the return of "true" (shitty) DMC, they would just put out DMC4 and leave DmC to die as a distant memory, a failed one-off that's best not spoken of again

You don't dress it up with a bunch of new features and put it out the door again if you want people to forget it

If they end up moving forward with DMC5 though, I'd totally understand. Hell, I'm just happy to be able to play an upgraded version of DmC on my PS4 and dream of a better timeline where it got a sequel instead

One of those games came out last year, the other came out in 2008. You really don't see the difference?

Who said Capcom wanted people to forget it? They don't have to sweep it under the rug or anything, there's nothing wrong with trying to make a bit more money off a failed project. And by adding new content, they can try and justify the $40 price tag.

And then DMC4 SE will come out a few months later (at a lower price) and get people excited for DMC5.

It came out on PS4 earlier this year. Since it's cross-buy, if you already have the game from before that (by buying it on its own or from when it was on PS+), the PS4 version's price will be listed as free for you. Same thing with Thomas Was Alone, which came out on PS4 this month. Resogun will be the same but in reverse: the PS4 version was on PS+ for months, and the PS3/Vita versions will be cross-buy with that when they come out later this month.

No, he means that it literally is allowing you to purchase it for free, not as a PS+ copy, but as an own-forever copy right now. It simply says "free", and doesn't give you the "This is being given to you as a PS+ game that will go away after your membership expires" message when you put it in the cart.

Guys, it's just an oversight because the store's not set up for a message that says "you're getting this version for free because you received a previous version of this for free via PlayStation+ and this title has been retroactively made cross buy". The "this is free while subscribed to PS+" message doesn't come up because the game isn't currently being offered for free on PS+.

If you log out, it doesn't show the game as free, because it isn't.

I just played Blue Estate. For some reason I thought I bought it during that last sale on it and just forgot to play it. Then when. I ended the level it told me it was the demo and I should buy the game. Guess I forgot I DL the demo to decide if I wanted to take advantage of the sale and never played it. Dammit. It better go on sale again.

That's pretty pricey for one song.

Anybody in PA land looking for some friendly competition in pinball and geometry wars? My friends are mostly still playing Destiny or have moved on to Advanced Warfare, and it's leaving the friends leaderboards in these games looking a little sparse.

Also decided to pick up the full version of Driveclub after seeing some gameplay footage with the dynamic weather effects and hearing that the social stuff is now up and working. It's cool, so far. The driving is better than I'd been led to believe, quite reminiscent of PGR. And graphically, it's stunning.

The dlc for that game is insanely priced across the board. Theres a costume pack that's $70, for example.

So, bit of a light week to end the year on, as there likely won't be another update until next year. Still, for those of us who will likely be getting some games for Christmas, it's a good time to catch up...if you're not incredibly busy cooking, wrapping or shopping, of course.

Wow. I never thought we would get one of these due to the licensing issues.

Now I can finally get in on debates on how there's no way any of these guys could beat Goku in a real fight.

This isn't even my final Edit:

We're also getting One Piece on Steam:

    Super Saiyan Edit 3:

Let's toss in some DBZ while we're at it:

I might get this just for the concept of Trunks as a Time Lord.

Give me all your power for this final Ediiiiiiiiit:

Ah ha ha ha, there's a scenario where
Raditz survives and joins Vegeta as a Great Ape.

And another one where Vegeta joins the Ginyu Force!

    Fuck, I'm buying this.

Oh yeah, guess I can post it in here too

    PS4s are currently $330 at Wal-Mart

In-store only, so if you're in the market for a cheaper PS4, bee line it straight to your local store and hope they have one in stock

Good luck though, I went to a few stores today, and every Wal-Mart, Target and even the Kmart (which should by all accounts be dead) were picked clean

Trine games rock. If you liked The Lost Vikings then it's a similar, albeit faster paced, concept.

Definitely worth playing the first game first though!

In past years, most deals on those seem to have happened during Boxing Day/Week. I'd say keep an eye out around that time.

I heard talk of Gamestop having them for $30 in their post-Xmas sale, but that you need to buy a DS4 with it to get the discount. As it happens, I need another controller, so I'll probably jump on that.

There is a marked difference this year from years past. I think it was nearly summer last time I saw a decent discount on PS+ cards.

I'm gonna guess Destiny massively spiking their subscription numbers means they can lay off pushing it a bit.

    Nod. Get treat. PSN: Quippish

If you have a Best Buy near you, or if you buy online from them regularly, you may be interested in their Gamers Club Unlocked sale going on right now: $30 for a two year membership. With that you get 20% off all new titles, including pre-orders, and 10% off used titles. It also ties into your Rewards account if you have one (and you should, it's free).

I can also confirm the 20% discount applies to controllers as well as Amiibos. The deal pretty much pays for itself.

I, for one, enjoyed the Mako.
