I just played through Samorost 3 and while it is absolutely gorgeous with fun puzzles, it also has a pretty amazing soundtrack.
Besides all the ambient music, however, there are occasional tracks that play as you and after you solve puzzles. My favorite one I listened to maybe 8 or 9 times before continuing on with the game.
One thing I really like about the cicada one is that if you just click on them normally all you hear is cicada noises. You don't hear the music until you use your magic trumpet thing to listen, which implies that all bugs are always just rocking the fuck out all the time we just can't hear it.

that reminds me a LOT of the mechwarrior 2 soundtrack, which is one of my big favorites

Dude speaking of the MW2 soundtrack, I had my disc up until a few years ago and it got scratched beyond repair in a move. The thing is, I had the disc that came boxed in with my Sidewinder Pro joystick, and it had three extra tracks on it that are NOWHERE on the Internet, that I can find. One of those songs was this super dope extremely fast piano progression piece that I've been dying to listen to again.
The Alph Lyla tracks for Megaman X are so fucking good. I mean, sure, the originals are really hard to pick out of the new instrumentation and melodic changes, but it's all so smooth.
Guess what, patrons? It's almost Halloween, and Emily has decided to embrace her necromancer identity by reviving some seriously old recommendations... for a dance party! Get your spook on in the dungeon with Key, Cookie, HAJU, the Assorted Boos, and of course Josh, who's chaperoning. So slap on some eyeliner, get close to the stage (or emergency exit), and let's party it up tonight!

I love finding Sakimoto's pre-FFT work. It's unmistakable.
