Definitely playing Astrologian - will keep that and Scholar up to date. Machinist has my friend hyped and I'll probably have that as my dps job instead of Bard though I know full well I'll almost never be on it.

Carry newbies through primals/coil turns. Luckily my FC does that all the time for friends & family anyway, but I also found my way into a couple chain runs via Party Finder/a relic Linkshell I'm in. Ended up with the Soldiery waaaaaay before getting all the drops >.<
Assuming the trailer is their AF, I am very much a fan
The cards remind me vaguly of corsairs in XI, which is only a good thing
That class was really really neat, although functionally it can't be too similar to a healer spec.
Dark Knight looks pretty cool, although I tend to prefer a more unrealistic two hander animation style over the weightier, realistic style they're going for with that.
The difference between male and female Au Ra is ridiculous but I guess they look alright in general.

I'll have to watch the Machinist video later since I'm on my phone right now. Did I read correctly that Machinist and Astrologian are both Jobs without Class requirements? Meaning there's no way to pre-level them? If so, that's interesting.

Honestly at this point I don't think we really know what it means to not have a base class. Some have suggested ti means they'll start at lvl 50, but I think it's far more likely they are just trying to shift away from the problems associated with the Class/Job system and just simplify it.
I think it would be a major misstep to just have the jobs unlocked at 50 especially in giving a nice injections of healers and tanks into the queues. On top of that having another healing class for the 15-30 queues in particular would be VERY useful (arcanist cannot queue as healers so only conjurer can DF from 15-30)
Either way I'm curious to see what will be

At this point I think we can safely conclude classes are on their way out one way or the other. Would not be surprised to see them overhauled straight out of the game by 4.0

No, I think it's the other way around. Other players have to find the books so they can understand you.

The new jobs look amazing, and I'll probably level them at some point, but the year and months I've put into my paladin are gonna keep me loyal. Like Coil demands diversity in its tanks, I don't want to be one of the legions of Dark Knights clamoring for a spot in progression.
so I healed my way through the first 3 dungeons last night. (1st time playing a healer). Was pretty fun, and its actually nice to watch the fights. only a couple deaths. 1 was me dying because the tank was watching the keynote stream, and not realizing i had an add on me. One wipe in copperbell on the final boss, as they decided to ignore the adds.
verdict- CONJ is a nice break from the queue hell of DPS.
Oh, can someone explain why, in the slime fight in CB, i wasn't supposed to heal the tank all the way? some wierd mechanic of the fight?
